Nah it weren't that good. I've seen much better and funny reviews elsewhere.
I think anyone who calls someone like Willie Thorn a shameless media tart doesn't really know what they're on about. That was a bit biazzare to be honest!

Oh no, those typical tv-critics trying to be $mart @r$e again. Trying too hard, really. I didn't know you can refer men as tarts for one (cream puffs might be a better idea).
I don't get the humour, actually. Though I don't really like Brendan, I think calling him a slimy slug is Oh well, if it sells the papers... |

Poor effort I thought...and I'm usually up for a bit of Brendan-bashing.
If you're going to just string together a bunch of largely gratuitous insults and call it journalism, at least be funny about it. |

Ouch!
I'd agree with the sentiments as regard to the Logans (so desperate for cash they both signed up) but Willie Thorne?? What's he ever done to upset anyone?

I think it was all pathetic ... I could write a better reveiw than that, if I wanted to be critical and amusing.
Brian Capron ... a media tart? For Goodness sake how do these people become journalists? |

It's actually dead easy to write that sort of review. No journalistic skills required - just slag everyone off and use some recycled "gags". Very poor.

If you're going to just string together a bunch of largely gratuitous insults and call it journalism, at least be funny about it. "Brian Capron" is the actor, "Gail Tilsley" is the character played by Helen Worth, (she's "Gail Platt" now?). You get the feeling the show has not been not watched seriously, or if so, just to gather the random insults together. |

I am sure that most of the celebs has had worse said about them , and will take it as the wind up it was meant to be. I suppose it depends on how you read it, and if you have had your happy pills.

Well I just think if you're going to be funny you should actually try and have some wit about it otherwise it's about as amusing as herpes.

Sorry, if you're offended - I'd erase it if I could but I never claimed it was of the standard of AA Gill or Caitlin Moran. It was only meant as a bit of harmless fun (I found the line about G. Logan particularly apt but maybe I'm just a bit of a sad case).
Have to agree - the line re GL was absolutely spot on. She IS sexless! I'm glad you posted it Elzbells - it made me smile in parts and even tho' everybody's made very valid points and it IS lazy journalism, 99% of 'celeb' journalism is lazy and lame! Researching facts would be far too challenging ![]() Nah, thanks for the link Elzbells - all grist to the mill

I, too, think Mr. Shelly is a bit of a plank, and if you ever read the Guardian online blogs you will see most of his articles sink without trace. However, we are talking about a bunch of desperate z-listers on this ocassion, so I don't have any problem with taking the *iss out of them. |
