does anyone know how to turn off the confirmation tone that sounds to confirm that i have sent a text?

Does your current balance appear on screen at the same time as the tone? If so, then this could be the balance alert that O2 Pay & Go customers get whenever they send a text or make a call. (That's if you're on O2 Pay & Go!
