Panasonic TX32LXD70 - any good?
Hi
I want to get a 32"HD tv for the bedroom to connect to the 2nd cable box i get from virgin. THe box will be an SD box so the tv will be used for just SD broadcasts. Does anyone have the Panasonic TX32LXD70? It's £599 in Richer Sounds but they were trying to flog me a Philips! I went to Selfridges where it's £800 so if I get it i'll go to Richer Sounds. The thing is the picture looked quite dark. Is a good tv? Is it good for SD broadcasts? Thanks! |

All I can say is the "52" I have is very good. The "60" was better so I would expect the "70" to be better still. The "700" is brilliant for around £900. Not telling what I paid, but it was nearly two years ago so you can guessit was a lot more

I Have the TX32LXD70 for about 2 weeks now and all I can is its the best lcd tv I have seen for under £630 well worth every penny, you will not be disapointed this tv sounds perfect when connected to a 5.1 system which just tops it off. Pitcure quality is 10/10 as well as functions 10/10 . Its perfect for sport and when watching rugby its just something else. Any other questions just ask.
Regards Pete |

Hi the set up was as easy as pressing 1 button and thats the power button it finds all the analogue and freeview channels all named and in the right order, the tv gives u the option to rename all the av inputs so it makes it easy to remember whats on which , i do advise u make a couple of changes to the picture settings when u get it . PM me wen u get it and i will run them threw with you if you want , happy viewing.

Do you have a delay on the remote control when you first turn on (works perfect after 30-60 seconds).
Panasonic have told me this is usual. I guess i just need someone else's opinion. |

As i'm in the TV retail biz, I have sold lots of TX32LXD70's, great TV, 100 Motion Pro is a great feature and works, hold the F button on the top of the set, it's very easy to use, and to explain to customers. Great sound and Pictute! and a FREE 5 year guarantee!
Certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a 32" LCD TV, Andy |

To turn the TV on you need to press and hold one of the number keys for a few seconds before it turns on (the led on the tv flashes red and then goes green) Its not like other tvs where u press it once and it turns on, it needs a few seconds to kick it to place. Once that happens you get a picture in a few seconds.
I've got the 26 inch version of this TV and love it! |

Sorry i'm not explaining myself correctly.
When i turn the tv on using the on/off switch on the top panel, the picture appears within a few seconds, but it takes a good 45-60 seconds before you can use all the functions on the remote (Channel change / volume). Once the remote is working every things brilliant. Panasonic told me this is not unusual and was something to do with the tv checking the digital channels. Because i personally don't know anyone with the tv, i just wondered if anybody else was having the same experience with their tv. Once everything has settled down, can't knock it. Fantastic picture and sound. |

My new set arrived ontime this afternoon, it was up and running within half an hour, it set itself up with what I think is a fantastic picture and colours. I cant believe just how sharp the picture is, and my last set was a 26" Panasonic CRT which I was always so pleased with. When I was looking around at sets in the local stores, I now think that most are not set up right, as I noticed nearly all were not that sharp unless on a HD signal. So to sum up I would fully recommend this to anybody.
Pin sharp on Sky or Digital Freeview. Lovely colours. Chris Last edited by chris665 : 17-10-2007 at 16:13. Reason: spelling |

Camels.
I have it set to start on tv, so i guess it will be DVB. I'll have to check if it does the same on analogue. I'll update tomorrow (THURS). |

I've got the same set and don't recall that ever happening - I'll check it specifically for you when I get home though. Is this when on DVB or analog, or does it make no difference?

I was told in Richer Sounds that the reason it had been reduced from 800 to 600 was that they were clearing it out of their warehouses - how true that is is open to debate of course ...
