Hi Angels! Just popped over from the kittens to tell you about Sat. Hairspray was amazing! We booked because we love MB but have to say Ben was very very good! His voice was note perfect and as for his dancing..... well all I can say is he sure can move!! You are all in for a real treat. We met him after( he was all hot and sweaty!!). I had several photos and he signed my prog. He was SOO lovely. I think he has just gained another fan ( though of course not above Daniel!).

I did get my programme signed by him but left the photo as I met him previously at Crystal palace when he was performing in the Dirty Dancing tour and had hugs and pics then.

I saw the Thursday matinee of Hairspray. I didn't know much about it before I went but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I watch ADWD and saw Ben progress through the shows. I didn't think he gave the strongest performance in Hairspray but he did very well in and his dancing was excellent. However, he was definitely outsung by the star of the show, Leanne Jones, a newcomer who I am sure will get rave reviews when the critics have their say next week. It will do Ben's career no harm to be associated with what I am sure will become a very successful show but I think his performance (and that of Michael Ball) will be overshadowed by Leanne Jones.

Glad you enjoyed the show and Leanne is certainly a star and going to get rave review possibly even over MB. I do think though thet ben has done amazingly well to be a juvenilie lead in the West End and in a great show with talented cast at the age of 18 is quite something and his dancing is amazing.

Hope you don't mind a quick visit from a Lovelee! I just wanted to let you know that when I went to see Joseph yesterday, I was sitting next to an older lady who had been to see Hairspray the night before, and she couldn't stop telling me how wonderful Ben had been!

She is a massive Michael Ball fan, which was why she had originally gone, but said that Ben's singing was terrific, and as for his dancing, it was some of the best she had ever seen in the West End (and this lady had been to pretty much every major musical in the WE for years!) She was even carrying a little picture of him with her in her purse, and remarked on how good-looking he was too!

I told her I knew of a group of his fans and said that I would pass onto them what she'd said - she said you should all be very proud of him! In fact, she was so enthusiastic I'm hoping to get tickets myself now...

Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know - it sounds as if Ben is a huge hit, and I'm really pleased for him

Aw Wimsey thank you for posting - here's hoping a certain Miss ZT gets to hear of these comments Mind you to be fair she did say he would suit a singing and dancing show and she right! Hope you both enjoyed Joseph too

My Auntie went to see Hairspray last week and she said it was fantastic! She was a Lee fan during ADWD but when I asked her how Ben was she said he was amazing - definitely a rival for Lee (she'd seen Joseph a few days before too). But she also told me some old women behind her were complaining Ben couldn't sing How rude!

I saw the show again last Thursday. Boy, you can't keep me away ha ha I thought Ben was even better than the 1st preview. I went with a friend who is an actor and he was really impressed. He also thought he was rather gorgeous Can't wait to go back again. Think I will leave it for a few weeks at least!

Saw a trailer for today's This Morning (ITV, 10.30-12.30) and there's a backstage report from Hairspray. Only saw Michael Ball in the clip but if they've any sense they'll grab Ben for a quick word. Not sure if it's already been posted but just in case...
