Bad picture using virgin media

Hi All

first post for me.

i currently have a system set up in my pub which comprises of virgin tv, foreign sat and a dvd player which are all linked into modulators and then into a 8 way amplifer - from there i run a single cable (coax)to each of the seven screens around the pub -

all is fine except the virgin tv picture, its viewable but snowy,

The other two sources which includes a sat signal from how many miles away is fine-

could the problem be with the frequency that each modulator is set at -

any advice would be welcome

thanks

they should be 3 channels apart in the tuning section,
if the telly works on frequency rather than channels let us know

so you may have to go into virgins set up and change the rf output to 3 away from the other devices

Thanks for the fast reply

i set each modulator with dip switches which represents a frequency,i then tune each tv to the frequency that each channel is set at.

hope this makes sense

yes i understand but the principle the same 3 channels apart

look at your sat box rf output and the virgins rf output and your dvd player

then make sur they are 3 channels apart or if you know the frequencys your modulators set at then let us know

go to one of your tellys , go into the tuning section and write down the channels all the equipment are on and shift the virgin 3 away from another device

Shifting the Virgin modulator to a lower frequency will help. To try just swap the modulators for Virgin and say DVD over

Just an afterthought, Whatever lower frequency you might choose for your Virgin distribution modulator - make sure it doesn't coincide with or is even adjacent to a local broadcast channel. Given your location a recommendation could be made.

Get a decent QED Scart as well.

479 is ch 22

503 is ch 25

855 is ch 69

ch 69 is your problem try 783.25/ ch 60 It is right at the top of the frequency range for tuning and lots of tellys have problems on it

As I previously posted 855MHz is a problem but cant see that CH 60 is going to give a vast improvement over CH69? Why not use CH 28 (527)?? unless there is interference pick up on the cable on CH28+/-1 from local broadcast channels??

I dont think the OP's Scart quality is an issue otherwise the other 2 sources would give similar problems.
