Bruce isn't passed his sell by date at all.

What I have to remember is that only a very small handful of people visit forums, probably less than 1% of the public, so obviously they're a small handful. The vast, vast majority of people who don't come on here love the programme and everything about it, including Brucie. They don't come onto forums and knock everything and everybody on the show. The people who visit these forums are quite an "extreme" bunch. Thankfully they are but a very small handful. I mean, how many people write on here, a few hundred maybe - and how many watch Strictly - about 12 million!

Sorry I couldn't agree with you less Moonglow. I find Brucie only OCCASIONALLY funny (some of his quips on the fly are actually quite funny), but some of his scripted jokes are so flat he has to encourage the audience to laugh...worst of all his leching over some of the ladies makes me want to throw up

Moonglow --- If SCD got 12 million viewers the BBC would be ecstatic!

Like tv ratings -- a small percentage of people are hooked up to a device to monitor what they watch and that determines the ratings for the whole of the UK. Likewise, a small percentage post on forums and they are representative of the majority of viewers.

I've yet to come across ANYONE who likes Bruce Forsyth now or in the past. Maybe it's a Scottish thing as sometimes I think he's something you English have inflicted on us.

He's always been cheesy but now he's coming across as doddery. He would do himself a favour by retiring but he's to vain to do that. When people are constantly referring to your age, as in, "Isn't it great he can still do that (shuffling his feet)?" then it is time to go. He is past his best, and yes I am willing to admit he was a competent presenter, but he really should quit.

I'm afraid I watch SCD in spite of Bruce rather than because of him - but that's not ageist, as I didn't like him much in the 1970s either!

I do find it annoying how he wants to hog the limelight all the time and constantly interrupts.

I know that Stephanie has wonderful self-deprecating wit , but as someone said earlier on this thread this humour is often there to cover up insecurities

I think Ms Beacham has been around studios's long enough to realise how the land lies and what sort of image the production team are trying to convey.

A repeat 3 years later showed it a "DAVID FROST with twisting on the riviera"

Brucie is identical. IMHO he would rather the show were called Brucies Come Dancing.
