I don't know, unless you are really interested in what you're looking at, watching hours & hours of film can be a real chore. With the amount of footage they are shooting, I never really expected any of them including Claudia to trawl thru all the film.
I would think tho that they tell the peons(no offense to anyone intended) that do the trawl what to look for.
I think how it goes is that a minion from the bbc is told what tapes to get and what they want to look for. The professional is paid to come in and review it and gives the minion the evaluation of the tapes, and where to put the circles etc. Minion writes it down and passes all this to CRW ready for him to deliver "his" evaluation on ITT.

That definitely sounds about right and exactly the way it came across to me the other evening, with the haphazard use of the graphics, almost as a last minute thing.

As regards CRH's technical knowledge, well he uses alot of Ballet terms, and is obviously a trained dancer, as he had a career in Musical Theatre in Australia and New Zealand before coming to the UK. I cyberchatted with a fellow cast memeber of his from La Cage Aux Folles back in the 1980s, who said he was a very lively and nice chap (unlike Jason Gardiner, also on the same tour and sacked after calling in sick, and being discovered to have gone to the Sydney Gay Pride Mardi Gras instead!)

But how much Craig, Bruno and Arlene know about the finer points of Ballroom are debateable, however they have been doing it for 5 series now.

La R, that is exactly right as you have guessed. The professional doing it could not be described as a peon as was said by someone. He was at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday judging the international comp.
I bet he would be loving being described as a peon!

BBC know that SCD + Robin Hood decimates ITV - X Factor does Sunday, so they will too.
I can't see the listings for Sunday next week on my Sky EPG guide, but X Factor have their results show on Sat next week (after Rugby final). So I don't think they are having a show on Sundays.

LOL! I had no idea what that word meant, and had to look it up on dictionary.com as I'd never heard it before!

is all I have to say, a bit of a harsh description!

It's great being there, however last week was very different to my previous experiences of going to see the show. There were a LOT of technical hold ups, resulting in us not getting out until 11.30 and a lot of audience members leaving. (This annoyed me like hell, the tickets obviously can't have meant that much to them, this is why I hate the ballot system)

Bruce & Tess are very professional, it's nothing to do with them, the only reason for stopping and starting were sound issues.

And just for the record, to prove I did go:

Thanks Vikki,

You and friend are real glam, I have saved the pics to drool over, maybe place under my pillor or use as my Windows wallpaper....

In my one experience attending a "live" TV show (Eric Morley's Miss World) there were endless start/stops, with "APPLAUSE" placards held up prompting the live audience, treating the audience like props. TV producers really believe a few hundred live customers are of no value compared to the millions of viewers.

I believe the only televised coverage you could rely on as "live" would be occasions attended by Her Majesty.

Thanks again Vikki,
one day for our sensuous rhumba,

Mr Mind

I see that complaining to BBC POV and asking them to explain why they no longer show the results live was a waste of time, they just glossed over the whole subject this afternoon

I thought the response on POV was flippant and patronising it just showed how much they disregard their audience.

I think you misunderstood the peon bit. I did not mean that a professional was looking through all the footage. My implication was that someone's assistant or a techie type assistant was being instructed to look through all the footage so that the prfessionals didn't have to do it themselves. They are not always called peons - in corporate life or academic life they are known as Research Assistants. i.e. the 'peon' is the assistant not the professional. Ya diggit?

A Pion has zero spin and is composed of first-generation quarks. In the quark model, an up and an anti-down quark compose a π+, while a down and an anti-up quark compose the π−, its antiparticle. The neutral combinations of up with anti-up and down with anti-down have identical quantum numbers, so they are only found in superpositions. The lowest-energy superposition is the π0, which is its own antiparticle. Together, the pions form a triplet of isospin; each pion has isospin-1 (I = 1) and third-component isospin equal to its charge (Iz = +1, 0 or −1).

A Pain is a pain.

It was indeed very patronising. Two complaints were read out regarding Kennygate, and then Terry, using that strange voice that he uses all the time these days, said "it's recorded, you know". As if he were talking to a 3 year old.

And then, just to ram it home, they showed a clip of Bruce on his Vegas trip and said "and that's recorded too".

The whole thing was aimed at making the viewers feel stupid rather than explaining how the misunderstanding might have happened.

Thanks for explaining that! I'm glad I didn't bother emailing POV or tune in now! The BBC never gets the gist of a complaint do they?
