Virgin's catch up tv

Why isn't Strictly or It takes two on Virgin's catch up tv service?

All the other major BBC programs are on, for example Robin Hood and Casualty from Saturday Nights

I would understand if it was something to do with the phone voting but they have it on BBC iplayer (which i can't get!) so it can't be that

I really though it would be on it so i didn't bother recording the preview show and missed it

Any ideas?

I couldn't agree more.

My whole family (myself included) are scratching our heads & wondering why this most popular entry in the Beeb's current lineup isn't available on catch-up.

Come on, BBC - sort it out!

Cheers,

because they wanted us all to watch it on SAturday as the only time it is going to be shown just so their ratings are good on SAturday night as we dont have the option to watch it in the week at leisure.

I'm really annoyed too it's not available on Virgin's catch up tv, especially ITT as I don't get home in time to catch the start of it.

I've just gone to the BBC i-player site but I can't download anything because I have Windows Vista instead of XP! What the heck?!

The Beeb are always blowing their own trumpet about branching out into new technologies and yet they can't even make their downloads compatable with new operating systems!

some of last year's shows were on - the final certainly was, I watched it a few times

Strange they don't put this on it they had any dream will do on it so it has nothing to do with the voting thing

To be fair, the Beeb have explicitly stated that it's only available on XP - as it says on the site:
Quote:
“At launch, BBC iPlayer will only work with Windows XP. We are making it available for other platforms, such as Windows Vista, and we’ll announce these versions as soon as they’re ready.”

So it's not a bug, as such, it's just a limitation. Similarly, it only works with IE and not other browsers.

Yes, they're a bit behind the times, but Vista's clearly a bit of a problem for a lot of apps, so they're not alone.

I've used iPlayer for the past month or so, and I'm very happy with it - I've watched a lot more TV because of it. I even downloaded "Halloween" last night - how cool is that?

We've only recently had Virgin Media installed & I have to say that I'm not overly impressed with anything offered on Catch-Up. We don't have the full TV package (not sure if that makes a difference?) but I don't think there's a lot to choose from in the first place & a lot of what is offered are not the sort of programmes that I watch. I agree that they need to include a wider range of programmes to cover all tastes & it would make sense if they offered the more popular shows.
