Thought I'd be the first to start this week's thread.

Everyone excited?

My teenage daughter has announced that she NEEDS new clothes so we have to drag ourselves off to Oxford Street. I will miss football (although shops may be a bit quieter as a result) and am even in danger of missing Strictly unless I can get her out of bed soon. Will, of course, set video.

Does throwing a bucket of cold water over a sleeping teenager constitute abuse?

Absolutely not.

Yes -I am extremely excited! Perhaps worryingly so.

The girls standard is so much higher than the Boys.

In response to your 2 questions:
Question 1:
Yes I am very excited - about to walk dog and get early tea ready!

Question 2:
No - I think teenagers need wake up calls!

I think tonight's show is going to be very interesting as a lot of hype has been made of it being the "ladies year to win".

I think there's going to be a lot of comparisons between the "leggy lovelies" with Kelly and Alesha battling for the most seductive rumba, but Letitia's rumba looked really good in rehearsals and Darren and her seemed to have good chemistry, so she could surprise us all.

.... and then we have the battle of who can do the most elegant quickstep. I think we can count Kate out of it (unfortunately for Kate and Anton fans), but it will be interesting so see how Stephanie does against Gabby and Penny.

It should be a good show.

Honestly can't wait! Wish there was a live feed as a show every day (including ITT and the sunday show) doesn't seem enough for me this year!

Ready to get mocked here but loved the live feed from Fame Academy - got to see them all choosing their outfits - that would be brilliant!

I won't mock you as I loved original Fame Academy and the live feed

I loved seeing them choose and rehearse their songs and loved the interaction between Alistair and James, they were hilarious.

I don't think live feed would work for SCD though as they aren't all living in the same house and they are all reahearsing at different times in different locations so it would cost a fortune to have cameras following them around all the time.

It would be nice to see a bit more behind the scenes stuff though, other than what they show on ITT.

Bounces up and down remembering lawn darts and singing bad bad butcher!

But agree live feed for SCD wouldn't work unless there was interactive feed from the training rooms, would love to watch how some of the pros teach.

Fame Academy was the most addicted to reality TV I've ever been, especially series one. I remember first getting hooked one evening spending 2 hours watching Malachi trying to learn a dance with Kevin that he just couldn't get. In the end I was standing up in my living room doing it with him, I was so desperate for him to get it. Something about being able to watch the rehearsals on that was so absorbing - as well as all the humour between them all. If we could watch the dancing training for Strictly all day, I really would not have a life at all!

Yes I remember lawn darts with fondness too, along with Jimmy Saville impressions and how Alistair and James used to keep bursting into singing "Your letter was only the start of it" ..lol. I also loved watching their evenings singing "Jessie" around the piano.

I also remember fruit bowls into the bins after the live shows ... I still laugh now remembering when Daniel Beddingfield had been in rehearsing with them and James and Alistair were taking the mickey out of his hair by calling him Fred Flintstone ....lol

... anyway back on-topic. I would like to see an hour long programme watching the training rather than 2 minute clips. I think what makes this sort of courage unfeasable is that the pros seem to follow the celeb around wherever they are working at the time to fit in training so logistically it would be too difficult.

Poor old Malachi, the tinman with no oil!

Yes maybe the bbc aren't showing training clips for our own good health reasons!

I'm too involved with SCD as it is!

Can't wait to see Alesha's performance not bothered about the rest!

Hopefully it'll be a goodshow. SCD should get good ratings; X-Factor is cancelled for the rugby today.

Alesha looked fierce last week, she looks determined but not scarily competitive!

Last minute good luck wishes to all the girls and the partners. I hope they are all sensational. Looking forward to seeing the boys in the group as well!!

FYI: I started out on Gabby & James thread saying good luck - realised I wanted to wish all good luck but didn't want to go to each thread (just lazy i guess) so its a group good luck!

I'd like to wish them all good luck too. I done so in all the threads as I'm neutral at the moment and don't have a favourite, I thought I would wait an see them do a ballroom and latin dance before I make up my mind.

Unfortunatley I got to page 3 and still couldn't find an Anton and Kate thread so gave up ..lol. I would like to wish them good luck tonight and hope that Kate gets through the performance OK, but hope she makes the right decision and if it is too much for her to carry on that she pulls out so as not to take the place of one of the others. I feel terribly sorry for Anton if she has to to this, but it would be the best for the competition.

Phew, back from Oxford Street just in time. It was a nightmare.

Just time to make a cup of tea and put feet up.

It's weird - but not in a bad way - to have SCD on while it's still light and the weather is sunny and warm.

Difficult to call this week....should be a cracker.
