Speaking of whom, James and Saira’s joint reaction to the wolf coat was absolutely hilarious. At first it raised a smile, but as laughter got the better of them, you couldn’t help but laugh along with them.

I know Miriam’s track record wasn’t exceptionally great (putting it next to Tim’s or Saira’s for example), but Paul’s attitude seems to make Sir Alan a little uneasy, and given his minimum productive input in this task, I though Sir Alan might have taken his opportunity to send him on his way.
Lol, that is the moment I always remember most from series 1....classic stuff. Hard to believe people actually buy such tat, but there you go...

As I recall, SAS later said he regretted his firing of Miriam. I think he liked Pauls bulldog spirit, but I think in retrospect he felt he made the wrong call. For me though, she wasn't that strong a candidate in this task, so it was pretty much a 50/50 call.

Just to add, though we haven't always agreed with each others views, it's been a pleasure watching this series with you...happy Christmas and all that!!!

Does anyone know if Dave are going to start showing Series 2. I had a look on their site but the TV listings only go up till the Thurs 3rd Jan and they seem to still be in Christmas mode with Red Dwarf on all evening.

I have listings up to 31st Jan and there is no sign of it there.

Thursday nights will go:

9:00 QI
9:40 Mock the Week
10:20 Never Mind the Buzzcocks
11:00 Have I Got News for You
11:40 QI

The same programmes as Monday nights, just different episodes

I missed the first Apprentice and have absolutely loved watching it! I knew who won, but that didn't take away anything other than the final moment (and it was pretty obvious anyway!).

I agree. Paul should have gone not Miriam. Whilst Miriam was being extremely professional in front of the camera I got the distinct impression that Paul was treating the whole exercise as one big joke. Miriam was never going to win but her efforts on that task definitely earned her another week in the competition.

I really wish I'd found this thread earlier - I ended up missing the shopping channel task one. The series link I had on picked up all the other episodes, but not that one.

UKTV repeat programmes constantly so I'd expect them to re-show the series again fairly soon.

And festive wishes to you as well. It's been great discussing not just The Apprentice, but also The Amazing Race back in the summer. Although you'd already seen the shows, your subtle, non-spoiler hints of what was coming up have been greatly appreciated. Here's to lots more enjoyable discussions in the New Year.
