Her songs sound soooo good these days, even though she never took herself seriously. She had a good bunch of videos too, combining her acting and comedy talents.

I always thought the video of My Guy was hysterical. Poor old Kinnock - probably thought he would improve his image if he appeared in a pop video. Still, it's a sign of the times. I can't see any of the current mob wanting to do something like that.

Tracey Ullman made some great records and it's a shame that you don't hear them a lot anymore. I really like her cover of "They Don't Know," though it is just a great song full stop.

They Dont Know is one of my favourite pop hits of the 80s- I heard Kirsty McColl(who wrote the song) sung the high note in the middle as TU couldn't reach it.

Tracey's backing track and backing vocals were all taken from Kirsty's original recording of the song which was Kirsty's first single in 1979. You're right though, they kept Kirsty's high note on "baby" as Tracey couldn't to do it.

I believe most of Tracey's 1st album was written by Kirsty.

I bought it and think not. Most were 50s/60s covers as I recall ...

Yup, only the title track was also written by Kirsty.

They don't know is amazing. I have it on my ipod. So pleased to see others like it too.

Didn't know Kirsty sang the 'baby' bit though! I knew she'd written it but didn't know that was kept in. You learn summat new every day....

Great song.

A great song that was specifically written for Tracy in the 80s but something went wrong in the deal........... so a slowed down version ended up on Agnetha Faltskog's solo album.
