I don know about you but I think that DWTS is a more watchable programme this series. Better dancing, better hosts and better judging outweigh the lack of atmosphere and the adverts

I prefer Strictly. Always will. I like the pros better and the ridiculous overmarking on DWTS gets on my wick. I also prefer standard ballroom, not the American version

SCD all the way for me - dont like the American ballroom and the over marking is ridiculous

SCD for me! Tried to watch DWTS last night, and it didn't have the magic for me.

Made me miss Craig and Arlene!!!

SCD for me too by a mile. DWTS is too polished and glossy for my taste. Only good thing about it are Len for his down to earthness and Bruno for his humour

However, this series DWTS has at least a couple of male celebs who can dance and doesn´t have a silly dance off

Not that it has happened this season yet but I absolutely the themed dances in last season's DWTS e.g.Joey's Star Wars Tango - I know the dance purists hated it but for sheer entertainment value - brilliant.

SCD by a mile - DWTS is good, but it emphasises theatrical, showy performances rather than the proper technique and the marking is laughable. Also I love the fact that the pros all have huge personalities over here nd are a huge part of the show, they can be a little ignored and quiet on DWTS in my opinion. Good show, but prefer ours.

You just wait - a couple of our males will turn into quite good dancers over the next few weeks in my opinion.

I think they will too - Gethin and Matt show some real promise - I actually thought Matt's score was a little harsh last week in comparison to some of those that came later.

Strictly. I just think the dances are more memorable, more focus on actual dance. Can't believe some of the dances on DWTS were a touch over 60 seconds long!
There's much more improvement in the celebs throughout the show.
They aren't anyway near as critical enough on DWTS
Better dresses on Strictly too!

SCD,despitge the attempts to play up the links with the stars that were obvious tonight,

It is a genuine charity show; all moneys except the 12/.5p/call going to CIN & no massaging of "celebrity" egos.

I actually love both... For different reasons, though if I had to choose then it would be SCD...

I can't STAND watching some of the dances/marks on DWTS... OK it happens in SCD too but I guess I just dislike the American rules... Like I can't remember who but someones Tango last night made me scream... Its my fav dance and I was just like WTF how is THAT a Tango ...

I enjoy watching them both.

I don't like the over marking and lack of criticism on DWTS, the judges on SCD are far stricter which makes for a better show.

I like watching the American pro group dances though, and I'm afraid I'm very shallow and like my weekly fix of Maksim and his chest

Agree with you there ally. I just think on Strictly the judges have their favourites and mark them high (which is irritating, don't get me wrong), but on DWTS everyone is marked highly. A 10 means nothing whatsoever.

Seemed to have a lot of AT elements in it - all those leg flicks...

I agree, last year the top 3 (Apolo, Joey and Laila) were getting 10's on a regular basis leaving nothing to really aim for. It was more dissapointment if they didn't get 10's rather than excitement if they did, it all got a bit predictable.

I like them both. I think the SCD could do with studying the DWTS. Their results show is a genuinely seperate light entertainment programme and not a rehash fo snippets already seen. Also, the scoring is slicker and less deadlocked with three judges instead of four.

It was way too fast... Though I do agree that it had a lot of AT elements... Then when Len said it should be slower Gods I could of strangled Bruno when he disagreed ...

One more thing for DWTS - better camera work!

I think they both have their good & bad points in different ways & end up quite equal tbh.
For instance in DWTS;
I hate the over-marking of everyone & gushing sychophantism (esp Bruno who's obviously trying to "make friends & influence people").
I love the professionalism of the presenters.
I find the competetiveness of the majority of celebs a bit too much.
The camerawork is much better.
The singers/orchestra are better.
Too many adverts.
In SCD;
I'm afraid Bruce & Tess are a bit grating now & he's obviously not as quick on the ball as he used to be!
I don't like the obvious favouritism of the judges.
I find our celebs more down-to-earth & "likeable" as they don't appear to be over-competetive, (baring the odd one usually).
I prefer our costumes on the whole & music choices.
The camera work is pants they are still spinning around the faces while missing fancy footwork .
This is my little old opinion of course .

I'm also getting hooked on DWTS - it just seems a bit more professional somehow, smoother. And I think the dancing standard is higher.

But really, I don't care -we've got two fantastic and successful partner dance programmes available. It's possible to watch something ballroom-dance-related on TV, every day of the week now - for anyone interested in dancing, this is a wonderful thing.
