No, if she quit before the results show, BBC will stupidly plan for a 2-couple finals, which will be DAFT.

I think she should bow out after she knew the public sympathise with her. She should be realistic and do the sane (and saintly) thing: quit gracefully NOW and ask for Steph to be reinstated!

I am beginning to sound like a broken record!!!

So did I . great couple

Aled and Lilia used Cell Block Tango in Series 2 .
I'd like to see a couple use The Moulin Rouge version of Roxanne .

I thought of the ladies who were able to dance properly Letitia was the weakest . But I also agree that Kate will not get much better, dancing or healthwise .
I would not like to see another situation like last year where there are 2 in the final and they have to dance so much .Mark said in that interview in January that in the end it became a test of stamina .

No SCD- O I meant before the show on Saturday ie before any votes had been cast then they could have a free week because no one would have lost their money and the Beeb could have carried on as normal without having to rejig numbers etc- I just can't believe anyone would be as selfish as she is and also that Anton is pushing her on- and before that is an unpopular statement do you think that he didn't know what he was doing with his 'she's so brave' patter?!

As soon as I saw they were dancing first, I thought it was a bit of a no brainer that they'd get low votes.

It's a shame as I liked them both and they had a good chemistry together but there you go.

Ok to call it sympathy - but it's not!
Why would you want anyone you feel sympathy for to go through mauling by judges and actual physical pain.
GBP seem to be a bit saddistic.

It is like an athlete sweet-talking the selectors into giving her a precious place on the UK Olympic Team,

when she knows perfectly well she is injured,
and cannot even get on the track let alone run for queen and country.

"Not a pretty sight" said Kate yesterday.
How true.

Even if the outcome is still the same at least she'd have gain my respect for her...”

I think she should have danced tonight & then withdrew from the competition thus fulfilling her desire to dance but recognising that her injury will not allow her to continue. My query was whether the BBC would be allowed to re-instate a couple who had been voted off as that would void the phone vote (or would they be expected to offer refunds to those who had voted in order to re-instate a losing couple?)

I was half expecting Bruce to state at the beginning of the show that due to Kate`s injury there would be no public vote and the girls scores would be carried over to next week and a average of the scores for the two shows used . Kate could then dance and withdraw with grace tonight. They could have even offered her the opportunity to return next year when fully fit.

That is just what Craig said last year , he can't understand the GBP voting for anyone to continue to be embarrassed

That's exactly what I was hoping would happen tonight. Hence my disappointment in her asking for votes.

I think she was in a difficult position, she is a determined lady and desperately wanted to overcome this temporary disability. She probably thought she would be voted off anyway, regardless of asking people to vote for her. i bet she is as shocked as anyone. I honestly thought she and Letitia would be the bottom two, I don't know why Stephanie was there unless a lot of people thought she was going to be safe.

It will be interesting (not exciting ) to watch the results show tomorrow night to hear what reasons the judges gave for sacking Stephanie over Letitia. I have some respect for the judges' opinions. Len appeared to really rate Stephanie and Vincent so it is quite a shock. I do like Letitia and feel sorry for her being in the middle of all this.

Stopping the vote could have cost BBC £100K revenue, and deprived Children in Need of a £12K donation.

Having compiled a rank of 7th out of 7 from the judges, Kate obviously made it at least 3rd top on the phone vote, with her combined score of 10 just beating the other two on 11 and 13.

The simplest solution would have been for knowledgeable BBC toffs to commission 100 secretaries to keep ringing and voting for Stefanie and Leatisha. It would not have been illegal and would have smoothly and uncontentiously solved all problems at a stroke.

Instead the punters are not happy, and everybody is short of a way out. A courageous resignation by Kate would deserve an MBE, but I cannot see her rising to such quick thinking and courageous initiative. Everybody will now drift into a depressed outcome which as it unfolds will do nobody credit.

What should have happened was for Kate to say that she wanted to dance just for one week. The Beeb set up one phone number and Bruce asks every viewer to dial the number once to 'donate for Kate'. This way Children in Need still get funds, Kate still gets to dance, and there's still
3 people left in the final.

Kate did not win tonight, nobody won.

Not thinking things through won.

Indecisiveness won, everybody else lost.

Not totally be surprised to be honest.

I don't blame Kate at all. She was very pragmatic about her injury and I don't think she played up to it - she basically said she just wanted to dance at least once and good on her. I think she could have been a pretty decent dancer actually but her injury will never allow her to do that.

Arlene and Craig are fools, there's no two ways about it - give the woman 2 and slag her off? That's pretty much a ticket to the next round right there.

Huge disappointment to see Stephanie go. She was tremendous fun and definitely had some talent.

I'm a big fan of Vincent so I'm gutted. I knew this would happen when I found out he was paired with Stephanie.

But Stephanie was nowhere near the worst dancer tonight.

That's both my favourite pros out and it's only week 2. Grrr. So the two eldest competitors are out already. I don't know why they even bother allowing people over 50 to enter. At least with the old system the public could save them, but it's starting to look like the judges are always going to vote based on "potential" which means the younger ones are almost always going to go through.

Going to bed now, I have had enough.

Not sure I want to watch this circus of dishonour any more.

I'm a huge fan of Vincent too and I am gutted he's out, but I don't in any way blame his partnership to Stephanie for this.
It was unfair they got voted out as they definitely were not the worst couple on the night.

I know - I thought she did well, better than I thought. But I still had this niggling feeling...

I don't blame Stephanie at all...but I do think the older competitors don't fare as well. It's a shame, she should not have gone based on tonights performance.
