Do the judges want a woman to win this year?

Well on seeing all the couples I have to say it is hardly surprising the judges want a female celeb to win, cos as a group they are streets ahead of the males celebs. ON the one dance each couple has done I would go as far as to say that the last FOUR couples in the competition could all have female celebs and to get near the last few weeks one or even two male celebs have got to improve to stand any chance what so ever, and I mean they have got improve one heck of a lot, not just progress but actually make a huge leap in terms of ability and, if the group dance training was anything to go by, commitment.

the only one out of all the males that can dance is John Barnes in my opinion, and until he loses the tummy it won't show as much

the rest are no good at all

oh, and that group dance was terrible - and yet we had to see it TWICE!

No......but I wish I could dance like Len. The women I work with normally watch X-Factor and as it was`t on this week they watched SCD instead.....and now their hooked.. They were really impressed by the women. When I asked would they vote for a poor/average performance by a hunky guy or a great performance by one of the glamorous women they all stated the woman would get their vote. So maybe the preconceived notion that the hunky guy will always get the female vote may not be true. There were no snide remarks about the beauties but genuine admiration of their ability. But the best news is that they can`t believe they have been watching the X-factor for the last 2 yrs and missed out on SCD. I have really tried to convert them to SCD but it looks like ITV made a big mistake in dropping the X-factor to show the Rugby and done it for me.I`am a Dentist and I always talk about scd to may patients but today was brilliant as so many X-factor viewers had watched SCD and loved it. I have warned them that the men are not that good this year

I agree that most of the women are miles better than the men. No contest so far, but I fear we might not be able to see any journeys this year, and I think that this is the interesting bit about SCD. IMO it's better to watch people that can't dance to start with and then get better. It seems that the judges have already prejudged everything, and that this might be dangerous as it might backfire on them and 2 very good couples might end up in the bottom two (e.g. Alesha and Kelly as an example).

I should say here, despite of my opening post, I voted Alesha and Matt as my favourite couple so far.

If Craig's comments on today's ITT are anything to go by, the judges' opinions of the male celebs' dancing is going up.

You can have a journey though without it being the simple (and not very convincing one for me) one of the clod hopping hunk turning into artistic dancer ( or in the last series into a dancer who could only do Latin or ballroom but not both) Alesha or Kelly both have room to become more mature. less giggly and even more impressive. Penny could become more expressive. Gaby might have a story - good or bad- if she has to improve to do better with the judges?

If the judges had had this power last year, the final would have been between Mark and Emma- but I can't believe Emma would have had even a chance of winning.”

I wonder if SCD will go back to having three in the final this year?

I think it is the public who have shown favouritism, keeping in people who can't dance and voting against those who can (some male as well as female).

I can't think of a reason why the judges would have a preferred gender for the winner. I mean they all have their favourites, as we've seen from past series, but what would be the benefit (either to them personally or to the show) of them wanting / contriving a female winner over a male winner?

Thus far the female dancers are appearing more capable, so I guess if you asked them now they'd predict that a woman will win on the basis of the evidence so far. But they will want the best dancer to win regardless of gender, surely?

I think it's too early to say that NONE of the men are any good, and stand no hope of winning.

Darren Gough was absolutely awful on his first week, yet somehow managed to win (wrongly in my opinion, but never mind). Mark Ramprakash was great at the latin as he seemed to have a natural feel for rhythm, but his ballroom was appalling right to the end, yet he won!

Penny who the judges all loved, and Gabby who only Craig seemed to love, are very tall. Good for ballroom, but they may look gangly at Latin (maybe not of course).

Let's cut one or two of the guys some slack, and wait and see what happens!
