It's the same as one on being hosted on rapidshare - the file header reads "SlipknotT816UK001". I don't know what the firmware is beyond that. I would strongly advise not using this if your box is working at the moment. No point mucking up a perfectly good box with an unknown firmware.

All that can be deduced from the Slipknot text is that the firmware is for T816 boxes. The "UK" doesn't necessarily mean it really is built for UK boxes, and could be the European version still, which can cause irreversible damage (firstly, the software might not work properly, and secondly reverting to a UK build might not work properly anymore either).

I have a copy of what is supposed to be version 5.1 for the T816, its header shows:

Code:
0009df SlipknotT816UK002.dcf
I'd be inclined to say that's just the version number of the boot loader that anything else.

Hi again.

I have just answered your PM Freeview-Viewer, after some delay, and can supply you with bin files required.

The link is the one I mentioned in the post under your thread about the unfortunate 'bricked' PVR box you have at present! I go along with the others, that this file ought to be avoided, especially since standard versions can be sent to you. As futaura says, it just might muck up the box completely as there is no indication as to it's source.

Thinking about it, I will PM you my email address to which you can respond directly.

Regards,

Tim P.
