Headphone socket size -Pansonic 32"

Hi, please help
In the process of getting my parents a Pansonic TX32LMD70LCD. I also need to get my mother a set of headphones to go with it. Does anyone know what size jack plug I need to buy for these TV's (the options seem to be 2.5 / 3.5 or 6.5 mm).
Also is the soundoutput through headphones on modern TV's a stereo source as some I have looked at say if it is not then only one earpiece will work.
Thanks

Pretty well all are 3.5mm and stereo, although I've no personal experience of Panasonic - it would be rare not to be the same as everyone else though.

The "52" and "60" are 3.5mm as Nigel suggests. No reason to believe the "70" is any different. Most Headphones these days come with a set of adaptors, but they should be easy to get anyway.

The sound output will be stereo if the source programme is at least stereo. One point to note is that on the Pannys, maybe others as well, the TV volume control does not control the headphone volume. This is an on-screen sound menu function. It may pay to get headphones with a built in volume control, then you can set the TV to maximum and control down from there.

My old Panasonic 32" has a 3.5mm socket. Why not go the whole hog and give her a pair of wireless headphones as well? Much more convenient.

Deffo 3.5mm. But as gomezz said you could use the audio output on the back or the 3.5 socket to power a wireless system. Much more usefull. Also don't forget to set the headphone volume on the Sound menu to the best listening level.
