Who do you think has the least chemistry?

Which professional has the hardest task in making their partner into a dancer ?

Personality clashes ???

Kelly and Brendan. It just all seems a bit "Brendan and Kelly" predictable, if you know what I mean.

I feel rotten for saying it, but it's got to be Gabby and James. Gabby IMO is taking it far too seriously (OK it's a competition and she wants to do her best but it's early days and 7s and 8s first time out are very respectable, yet she seemed crestfallen) and I just can't warm to James at all, he just doesn't seem to have any warmth or humour to him that I have seen (although I am happy to be given examples that would change this!).

Kenny and Ola. You know their respective spouses are going to do better and they seem like their support club, not their opponents - it especially feels like Kenny is there for Gabby, not to win. And I don't think Ola is the best choreographer. And her dances are often all about her, which will be more obvious this year with Kenny.

I didn't get to see the guys last week so can't comment on them... But I really didn't warm to Gabby and James... I actually really like James, but I just couldn't get into them...

I don't enjoy Penny & Ian as a couple (although I enjoyed their QS very much, even although it was overmarked) ...... she's pretty but vacant and he is just so camp and cheesy *insert "vomit" smiley*

Kelly and Brendan, although tbh it would be Kelly and anyone - she irritates the hell out of me.

Gabby and James - I'm finding it difficult to warm to Gabby.

Gabby (too confident and competitive) and James (bad tempered and humourless)

I dont mind Kelly and Brendan but the 'what, me? Im a good dancer? Really? Wow!'bit was irritating yet entertaining!

Im not really into Penny and Ian either although, like the above poster, I enjoyed their QS and found them both fairly likeable.

have to agree with you completely, she is way too up herself and I dislike that

Gabby and James.

Being competitive isn't a bad thing - as long as you can take both the good and bad results on the chin - but they're a bit too stony-faced about the whole thing.

Either james and gabby or kelly and Brendan.

James and Gabby. Doesn't seem to work.

Not keen on Kelly and Brendan...something about it just seems really fake and predictable.

Gabby & James (I like James though)
and Kenny & ola

I don,t actually mind Gabby but James comes over very pompous and bad tempered and I wish Kelly would stop giving it the "Am I really good" look when she knows perfectly well she is.

Gabby and James, they are too competitive and do not look like they are enjoying it at all

i really really DONT see that, in all her interviews she has been scared to death of failing at this! as the british press would tear her to shreads as usual!! so shes gone in thinking no expectations and was shocked when she got good marks which she def deserved!

Sorry to say but with the exception of Stephanie I couldn't warm to any of the female partnerships last night. I do think they are trying too hard. This was especially highlighted when we saw the lads "group" dance. Ok, technically, it wasn't half as good as the girls the previous week but, at least they looked as if they were having fun! I was laughing "with" them for their efforts at trying to keep some semblence of a routine! Their "Go Willy" chant when the judges tried to criticise him was SCD gold!

Hopefully I'm being a little harsh and a lot of the "competitiveness/seriousness" shown by the girls was down to first night nerves.

Absolutely have to agree with you musicangel - when they were waiting to go on stage last night I thought she looked petrified and I genuinely think she was shocked at the high marks - yes she's a bit giggly but Letitia is the same and yet no one slates her.

I can't understand why especially as Letitia is in her late 30's and should really have grown out of that girly giggly stage by now!

To be fair to them both I think they were extremely nervous and that's where the overenthusiastic giggling and laughing comes from.

I think your being unfair on the girls just because they are good it doesn't make them unlikeable, or not having fun. Alesha for example doesn't seem competitive at all, and can't seem to stop laughing.

However having said that out of the girls I can't warm to Kelly and Brendan, and Matt and Flavia seem a bit boring too.

The boys seem to be having more fun, maybe because the judges dont have as high expectations as they do with the girls.

I agree I'm being harsh but, not because they're good! Infact I would argue that so far Gabby Logan has given the best performance of the series even though she's my least fave personality. To be fair it's a competition and they are ALL in it to win it but, as I said I like to see people enjoying the show and as yet none of the girls seem to be taking it in the spirit it was originally intended. I will say again that it was the first night and hopefully their real personalities will come through (good or bad)

I totally agree, I really believe they want a woman winner this year and on what we've seen so far they'll probably get their wish. However, they must be careful of shoving it down our throats otherwise they'll have a Emma/Zoe type of backlash.

I had the very same feeling watching those two 'quickstep' last nightDefinitely no real chemistry, just sheer competitiveness which, imo, made them come across as quite cold.
But, listen, as far as the blokes are concerned I haven't really warmed to Kenny, either. Part from the fact that I can't understand half the words that come out of his mouth, he's just not dance material in the least.

Beside all of that I don't think the husband-wife rivalry that's been set up by SCD this season (Ola/James, Gabby/Kenny) will work for the audience.
My guess is both of these couples will be outsted within the first month

Gabby and James - always seems like James is ready to have a go at someone, usually his dancing partner.

Not a big fan of Kenny and Ola either.
