I totally agree, I really believe they want a woman winner this year and on what we've seen so far they'll probably get their wish. However, they must be careful of shoving it down our throats otherwise they'll have a Emma/Zoe type of backlash.”

The girls has set themselves really high standards, which means there isnt much room for improvement over the weeks. The boys have a better chance of 'growing' and making it into a journey..... everyone loves to see the improvements over the weeks... I loved how Matt last year grew into his role as a dancer.

I don't like Gabby and James - can't see any chemistry between them, it's all about winning the competition and not about the dancing. Not a big fan of Kenny and Ola, but I don't mind them.

I also don't like Kelly and Brendan. I do like Brendan, but Kelly just annoys me so much!

Kelly is simply gorgeous, but she's been handicapped (in my eyes anyway) by being partnered with Brendan.

So on the basis that he would never get my vote, they're my least favourite.

Warming to Gabby. Great QS yesterday (only dance I saw though). That bit where they were kicking between each others legs looked fantastic.

Kenny and Ola. I just don't think that she can bring the best out of him.

It was so funny - 'what, me? I'm a good dancer?' - she's SUCH a bad actor!lol! Did anyone catch Matthew Cutlers look when she was saying this to Tess - it said it all! I don't know whether Kelly is pretending to be really thick - or if she just is? I don't know - maybe that's mean, maybe it was just the nerves that made her behave like that - anyway, it was irritating!

I have to say (although I could have imagined it) their didn't seem to be much love for Kelly from the other contestants, any one agree?

its hard to really tell as they don't know each other that well yet.
I do think (from the clips i've seen) that of the males Gethin and Matt are quite close. Not sure about the others yet.

Sadly non of the guys have really got me out painting my door! I have always had a soft spot for Brendan though. This series I'm championing the far superior female contestants.

I think all the blokes have really gelled...... as someone has already posted, they have all struck a good balance between working hard and enjoying themselves - unlike the girls who are all very focused.

I agree. There shouldn't be any scores of 8 or 9 on week one, but there were a good few last night. If someone's so good that they get a 9 on week 1, then they shouldn't be on the show as far as I'm concerned, it's not what it's about. I hope one of the men win because they look like they are enjoying themselves far more.

Id agree. I do think the women are better dancers but i can see a few of the males such as Gethin and Dom really improving throughout the show and they all seem in good spirits which will probably give them"the journey"
Another thing is a lot of the girls are very giggly this year! Not that its a bad thing but there is a thin between being cute or fun giggly and annoying/fake giggly...

Kenny and Ola are my least favourite partnership....they both seem a bit distant…like this is just another job rather than a great opportunity (but maybe that is because they are both a little shy)….I am also not keen on the BBC husband and wife stunt either!

I think in general your right, but their are few girls who have that balance right too, as well as being great dancers (basically I just mean Alesha )

Emma Bunton scored 33 last year in Week 2 , Louisa was second with 28 .and Louisa had a 10 in Week 3 .

I agree the men look to be having far more fun , though I think Alesha is really enjoying it , and Penny .

I haven't warm to Gabby and James yet even after watching their dance again, twice.

It was a technically difficult dance, but Gabby, as I predicted, was too concerned to score with the judges and when she perceived that she didn't get the marks she wanted, she looked rather p*ssed by the whole thing.

Now, now. Are we going to have those salivating audience votes for Matt and Gethin? Though Matt did show some potential (and the judges actually were quite positive towards Matt last week), Gethin still look like he's holding back when he dances. Matt seems like he could improve from last week and this week's group dance but I don't see any perceivable improvement from Gethin...

I don't dislike either Gabby or James but I don't think they work as a partnership. As a couple you need light and shade to balance the personalities, sadly these two seem to be both serious characters, determined to score well but not engaging in the audience.

I liked their routine, but they didn't take the judges comments too well.

My vote is going to Brendan and Kelly- i normally don't mind Brendan but i'm afraid after last night, I think that Kelly has tickets on herself, just a tad

Have to say I tried very hard to like Kelly and Brendan but really couldn't enjoy watching them at all. I'm not a fan of Brendan but I try to be objective watching his dancing but Kelly, to me, just didn't seem to connect with the audience. It was a bit self-involved.

And Gaby, well what can you say about her? Competitive? I don't know what's she like as a sports presenter but she had all the warmth of a freezer last night.

On the more positive side I did think Matt and Aleesha were a good partnership, as were Ian and Penny but the out and out competitiveness of some of the celebs and the pro-dancers (including my fave pro) is a bit off putting. You expect people to want to do their best but this "I want to win" attitude is already getting on my nerves. Maybe I just need more wine!

Gabby and James. I don't dislike Gabby, not sure why she gets slagged off so much, I'm not keen on James but I would have liked to have seen them together on ITT.
Just from Saturday there wasn't much spark to the dancing or the partnership.
Just one word to Gabby....Chillax! (not a proper word I know)

the Kelly and Brendan partnership is the least favourite one for me. That "innocent" smilie little girl act is getting really annoying. Penny Lancaster is just as beautiful or even more so then Kelly, and she's a lovely real person. She doesn't put on a act. I really like Jimmy Jordan, just feel sorry for him that he's being partnered with Gobby Logan.
