Voted for matt and Alesha but could have voted or a couple more as I always have my personality/tryinghard/improving favourite and then my best dancer favourite.

Alesha, by miles. She's got so much charisma and natural dance talent, I can't take my eyes off her. She was at least as good as Penny and Kelly on Saturday, IMO. (And Gabby was also undermarked, but that's another story for another day....)

p.s. of the boys, John's the best dancer. Dom's got the watchability factor. Gethin won't get anywhere, because he spends half the week chained to my bed. RAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

Wow what a lead Alesha/Matthew have got there! To be honest, providing her ballroom is good, I can't see past them winning at this early stage. Bit too optimistic there?

Why? Because so this partnership offer the complete SCD package. Fun but committed; a good dancer but got lots to learn. Passionate but light-hearted. Amuses but real.
Dance like life is all about balance, and I think between the two of them they pretty well hit the spot.

John and Nicole - I agree he is the best male celeb. Great rhythm. Plus I love their confidence but they are relaxed with it. There is a lot of potential especially if he trims that stomach.

After last night's ITT I think Alesha is just adorable and I really think she and Matt have won a lot of people over. If they continue like we saw last night, they've got a really good chance of winning SCD both in terms of audiences liking them and the judges scoring them well.

Because Anton's a really nice guy and so funny. They both deserve a chance, hopefully Kate will recover and then we can see how good they really are

Kelly and Brendan: very closely followed by Alesha and Matt. I definitely think B+K are this years love or hate couple. 2nd in the favourite poll and 2nd in the least favourite poll. At least their consistant.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record...Matt and Alesha for me, too.

What would be interesting to know is how indicative the general opinions on DS are. From what I remember in 2006 Mark and Karen were quite early favourites to win on the DS polls (not sure if anyone remembers the comparitive polls last year). Are Matt and Alesha similarly going to be the choice with the public?

Louisa and vincent were quite popular too i think.
I think them and karen/mark were the most popular but i could be wrong.

Mark and Karen topped every poll except when Matt and Lilia did their Waltz I think, (possibly when Louisa did her jive too).

I seem to remember that Matt's popularity on here didn't really reflect his popularity overall. Think he scored fairly low on these polls.

It was Mark and Karen from week one, with Emma and Darren 2nd. Emma and Darren's support gradually dwindled while Mark and Karen's remained much the same until the end.

Last years weekly BBC poll, in which you voted for the couple you wanted to leave, was an extremely good guide to the popularity of partnerships amongst viewers. Over 20,000 votes were cast weekly, which is a very large sample size, and so pretty accurate (with a margin of error - allowing for random fluctuations - I'd say of no more than 3%). Are the BBC running similar polls this year???

Our above poll, though small in size, should over the weeks begin to reflect (within a margin of error of no more than 10%) the mood of viewers in general.

Give it a few weeks, and if Alesha and Matthew are still near or at the top, you can assume they've built up a solid following.
