After her petulant performance last night, how long will she last in the show? I reckon a few weeks, but she doesn't have the warmth of the rest of the contestants.

Not too long her attitude is wrong-she wont have done herself any favours with that. If anything it will turn people off her.
SCD is not about any specific person but about raising money for Childre in Need

yea she seemed genuinely angry that the judges werent saying spectacular things to her after her dance. bit too competitive, you still have to be graceful if you dont get a good score or do perfect everytime, love.

Sadly largely forgotten about I think despite Brucie and Tess reminding the viewers each Saturday.

An unfortunate casualty of all the vote rigging etc. scandals in that you used to have all week to vote even without seeing the performances

Can't say, especially as no one knows what she dancing next week

I thought her quickstep was the best of the night, personally, and I can understand why she was p*ssed off. I think she's a very good dancer, but I also think that she has a rather unpreposessing personality that will turn people off her no matter how good she is.

She should be on for quite some weeks yet, as she should stay near the top of the table and there are a lot of men to plow through before she gets close to being in danger from the public. Once she's there, however, I can see her ending up in the bottom two a few times. The judges will probably save her, unless she turns up against one of their more particular favourites.

To give Gabby the benefit of the doubt, I don't think she was angry at the judges, I think she was angry at herself as she felt she had messed up - nothing wrong with that.

I don't know why people have a problem with competitive females...Dominic himself has admitted how competitive he is and he is just a "cheeky chappie" where as Gabby is "cold and petulant" - don't get it?

The show is about dancing..not personalities..Kate Garraway should no WAY have stayed..she was clearly the weakest dancer. ON the subject of Gaby Logan..so what if she was grumpy, its how she dances that matters, not how cheerful she is.

I have a cousin who is unbelievably competitive, and successful too. She married someone who is also insanely competitive, and this reminds me of Kenny and Gabby.

I think Gabby would do my head in, everyone has to be trying their best or there's no point entering, but it's also about having fun. Unless she wins I doubt she'll be happy.

What did she say when the judges gave their scores? I was watching it later on and I used FF to skip those bits (and avoid Tess Daly and her whiny reminders to phone in  )

I think there are better performers than Gabby. She should chill out a bit more and we'd maybe get to see her vulnerable side and like her more. Jan Ravens was another poor loser. I liked her a lot, but when you see them get bitter, well it spoils things a bit.

Unfortunately, when the GBP get their vote on, it's about both dancing and personality, which is why the BBC have introduced the new judge's decision element. That should balance out the worst excesses of the public's decision-making, but the public still have a big say in that they can save people from the bottom two, which is where personality comes into it and Kate was saved.

I dont think Kenny is competitive. He seems like the complete opposite of his wife!

I thought it was lovely when he picked up Stephanie at the end, when he was hugging her. Rugby players are so nice and big

Kenny had been at the bottom two and he knew how Stephanie must have felt. He did a very sane thing to hug her like that. I was gutted when Vincent was seen mouthing 'hug me' to Stephanie when they did their last dance. He was gutted but he was in floods of tears last year when he lost out in the dance off...

The only hope now is to watch them for the last time in ITT. All the best to Vincent and Stephanie!

There are some great facts about his career on the Kenny & Ola thread..... even me, who has been watching Scottish rugby for 30yrs was amazed at the stats. Come on Kenny

I appear to be swimming against the tide but I actually like Gabby. Yes she's very competitive but for those of you who say its just a gameshow isn't Rugby Union just a game yet how many of us were going crazy in front of our TV sets at the weekend because the England team showed a hard, 'competitive' edge and weren't prepared to lose?

And look at just how much training ALL the celebs/pros do - its bound to foster competition. On the other hand if she was miserable/disappointed on 'Call My Bluff' I'd probably share the same view of the majority on this board!

And as an explanation of why Gabby might have developed this 'attitude' remember that ITV relegated her from her role as their top football presenter when they attracted Steve Rider over from the BBC. That's why she moved in the opposite direction so perhaps she does have something of a chip on her shoulder as far as male/female competition goes.

Also she was barred from appearing on SCD when she was with ITV (they wanted her to go on their inferior 'Dancing On Ice' show.) So she's been chomping at the bit to appear and do well for quite some time. Please cut her a bit of slack and let's see how she develops.

As I have posted on another thread, am a bit gobsmacked that ther is an actual 'gabby bashing' thread.

Great post, Chels..... I'm getting a bit sick of all this Logan-bashing. She is committed, focused and working her butt off to make a success of this. She's not whinging about being tired and sore, she's not giggling and taking it lightly, and she's not using it to promote her flagging/non-existent career. She's EXACTLY the kind of contestant shows like this need. Give her a break, FGS

Dearie me! She got paid like everyone else!

Of course, she can be competitive. She has dance talent (no surprise here considering she has rhythmic gymnastics background), and she did those steps very well even when she's not in hold. I do think there are stronger competitors out there, and she should be a little more humble. I am sure Alesha and Penny also would like to make it to the finals and win but at least they showed that they are at the same time having some fun while training hard.

Gabby was all about training hard like she's competing for an Olympic medal!

No offence, but...

I wish people would stop bangin' on about Children in Need.

Firstly, this programme is about beating ITV in the ratings.

Secondly, it's about providing some family entertainment.

The only connection with Children in Need is that the phone calls have a percentage of cash that goes to this particular charity.
The BBC are fond of using charity donations to various causes as an incentive to get people to vote in this and similar programmes.
The BBC refuse to tell you how many votes they receive because I'd suggest that the percentage of votes of the overall viewing numbers is pathetically small. Without the "charity connection" it'd be a lot smaller. A high proportion of viewers never vote for anyone.

CIN is a worthy charity, but it isn't the only one and there are other children's charities just as worthy which may suffer because of the disproportionate amount of attention CIN receives from a public service broadcaster.

The BBC should be more "even handed" in their selection of charities for viewers to patronise.

Perhaps you hit the nail on the head there SCD-Observer. The highlight of her career appears to have been finishing 8th in rhythmic gymnastics for Wales at a Commonwealth Games before having to end her gymnastics career at 17 due to Sciatica. Of course she's gone on to have a successful media career since but maybe her sporting ambitions/dreams were unfulfilled and she sees this terrific l'il show as a way of getting those competitive juices going again - especially with having hubby up against her. Let's face it the BBC must have been looking to create some sort of edginess to this series by putting both Logans on it and pairing them with another married (not to mention fiery!) pro couple.

I think she did well and actually admire her attitude towards the whole thing. I think she was undermarked a bit last night.

What's wrong with being hard working and competitive? It's a competition.
