Just for laughs I pulled out this old VHS tape of RANA - The Legend of Shadow Lake and played it today. It is one of those low budget late 1960's horror movies. A great movie to play when the youngins are around.

Rise of the Footsoldier.
A movie with a lot of swearing and violence that doesn't appear to go anywhere. |

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
I didn't expect it to be as funny as it was. Almost a perfect comedy |

Great Movie, so sad and beautiful at the same time. - The Girl Next Door (2007) 8 / 10 ![]() This movie made me want the death penalty bought back. Still can't believe it's based on a true story. |

A movie with a lot of swearing and violence that doesn't appear to go anywhere. I watched "Rise of the footsoldier" and thought it was brilliant, did you watch it all the way through ? Based on a true story about the events surrounding the shocking gangland murders of three men found blasted to death in a range rover on a quiet country lane in 1998 (Rettendon Range Rover murders). |

Saw the Kite Runner on Friday night - it was fantastic and I highly recommend it! I sepnt the whole time crying much to the amusement of my teenage sons who were with me but I don't think I was the only one as there were lots of red-eyed people coming out at the end

Joyeux Noel - wanted to see this when it came out a couple of years ago but was on a limited release. Missed it when it was on TV last week due to it being on on Saturday morning and listed under the English title of Merry Christmas, so I dodn't notice til it had been on.
Ordered the CD from Amazon on Christmas Eve for a fiver and it came yesterday morning, so watched it last night. An excellent film - French/German/British co-production about Christmas 1914 in the trenches. |

So where exactly did he rise to.
He started off as a thug and ended up as an unemployed thug crying on the floor over the loss of three blokes. Calling it "the rise and fall of the footsoldier" though would be abit "reg perrin" dont you think ? |

On TV 'Sexy Beast' my favourite actor in my favourite film.
On DVD 'Grow Your Own' a nice gentle British film that brought a tear to my eye at the end. |

The devil wears Prada - great The Matrix - better this time around The matrix Reloaded - again better this time around Next on my list is the other Matrix - I'm hoping that watching them one after the other rather than a few years apart will make make it all the better - so far so good |

Both TV Series I had gotten into in 2007 but had never seen the feature length movies of them yet. Both were sky+'ed over Christmas and finally watched them both back to back last night. (As a last second blast before I had to go back to work today).
Fairly Odd Parents: Abra Catastrophe Only ever a straight-to-DVD/TV Movie but this would have worked/been good on the big screen. Fun, I like the whole 'magic' thing and loved the whole 'I'll use it to rule the world" idea but perhaps a tad predictable, but successfully entertained me for 90 Minutes anyway 4/5 The Spongebob Squarepants Movie Again predictable but the excally the right 'Movie version' of a TV Show' format. Take the basic premise and mini universe of the show but expand, throw in a few extra things and stretch it out to 90 minutes. That's the way I like em. The David Hasselhoff part is just terrible though. 4/5 |

Charlie Wilsons War - Excellent film. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but it's got the best dialogue I've heard in a film for a long time and the Hanks/Hoffman chemistry creates a great vibrancy.
I also saw Not a country for old men but wasn't fussed, and I normally like the Coen Bros |

Recently seen
I Am Legend - entertaining, but nothing special. Stardust - enjoyable, but not as good as The Pricess Bride. Superbad - a load of rubbish. The Invasion - not as bad as I was expecting. |

Population 436......... what a steaming pile off poo that was, with some of the worst most plastic acting I have seen, though shockingly Fred Dirst who is one of the main stars, isnt one of the guilty parties in the bad acting stakes.
And Balls of Fury, its nuts but was a right laugh. |
