The Philadelphia Experiment
Classic time travel sci-fi, let down slightly by the silly ending and the very dated sfx. A great "on the run" movie tho, really exciting in places. 7.5/10 |

Near Dark (1987) - 9/10
I'd forgotten just how brilliant this film was, easily one of the best vampire films ever. The tweeners who think 'Twilight' is the best thing ever should watch this and see how it SHOULD be done and Bill Paxton is hilarious in it! "Finger lickin' gooooood!!", lol.

I watched two movies yesterday:
Gran Tarino (10/10) - realistic, conveys good messages Bedtime Stories (6/10) - entertaining, but a bit too childish, lacks a good script |

Alexander Revisited 7/10
Well Oliver Stone certainly gave it a go. The visuals were stunning, but I'm not sure about the acting... Angelia Jolie at the very least looks amazing, which almost covers that crazy accent. This 'final' DVD version was certainly an improvement over the other version I saw, but I'm still not convinced. Alexander was certainly a great man, maybe one day he'll get a great film... |

Just watched Bullets over Broadway (again), probably one of Woody Allen's best films.

Frontier(s) (2007) - 8/10
It might sound macabre, but the bit where one of the evil guys falls backwards onto a spinning circular saw was "magnifique", lol. Decent film, although it wasn't really in the same class as some of the other French "new wave horrors" like 'Martyrs' and 'Inside'. Still worth a watch though! |

Watched Meet the spartans last night on a movie channel
5/10 Dragged on and turned it off after an hour. Camera electra is a terrible actress in that movie. She gets cast in such trashy movies. |

Che - Part One
Surprised to hear this bombed tbh. I thought it was very good, and Del Toro was quite superb as Che. My only criticism is I felt they painted Che as a very one dimensional character and shied away from his flaws. Every act he commited was rational and justified, even executions. After reading his memoirs years ago I know that isn't the whole truth. He could be utterly ruthless and was quite sadistic in places. Still, a very enjoyable film. Watching Part Two tonight. 7/10 |

The Time Traveller's Wife - I wasn't too keen on it myself, just didn't do anything for me. Although I love Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana I didn't buy them as a couple. Plus I spent half the time trying to get my head around the past, present and future for both of the characters.
