The other thing with Bog is that if you can tie them down on the left-hand side you then force them to advance through the bog itself, or down the right side, either of which are easily defendable. Plus, if you start at the top of the map you have a distinct advantage anyway as B is closer to you then it is to them. If you get to B first and then gain control of the buildings, the other team is pretty much knackered.
There's two bits of play that signify great play in my book. The first, is individual play, the strategising and out-thinking of opponents. The other is teamwork. The best example of teamwork I've ever seen is on Ambush. We started on the side of the map that has A, with the contruction yard. Within about a minute, the other side had control of C and B and had us pinned right back on A. They had control of the buildings on the right and left side of the our side of the map, as well as the buildings in the middle that you can get onto. From the elevated positions they were picking us off for fun. From those three vantage points they could see every accessible route by which we could advance. As soon as it became apparent that that's what they were doing I just switched to the Barrett and picked them off as best I could. I think I was the only one of our team that came out of that game with a positive ratio.
Pretty much everyone else pulled out after that game but I stuck in. Played them again in the next map, which was Crash. They did exactly the same thing. We started at A. They had control of the blue building near to A, the tall building next to B, the building next to the path down from A towards C, the building next to that and the building next to C itself. Again, they were all elevated and we couldn't get anywhere near them, let alone the B and C flags. I think I came out of that one with a negative ratio as there was literally nowhere to go, but it wasn't too bad. The rest of the team got massacred.
Despite losing twice, they were very good games. Certainly learn't a few things, such as certain places that I didn't know you could get to.
