I know it has nothing to do with the game itself. But I DO believe that it's down to the server being overloaded with people trying to play this game online. And that definitely should've been prepared for. I've got about 3 games in since I went on at 6pm. I'm giving up for the night. The people that don't give a sh*t about work or don't work are gonna be the lucky ones later when everyone leaves to go to bed.I'm really pi$$ed off at it all now.
Awwww babe, I work 7 days a week for 10 weeks at a time but i am lucky enough to work afternoon into mid evenings so i get to stay up later and wake up later in the morning than most people. It is the only time i get to relax when i dont get a day off every week. I post on DS when i am working (I am allowed to browse the internet when I dont have any LIVE work coming in for a few minutes).

Having said that I understand your frustrations and how it seems to be after midnight the last two nights when things started to work again on LIVE and i do feel that it isnt very good that Live isnt working for so long when A) We are paying for it and B) They had a Beta to test server limits and had plenty of forums they could have visited to see how HUGE the demand was for this game before it came out.
Lets hope that some official apology and explaination comes about soon and possibly some freebie ....... 50 Marketplace Points per each day the service is struggling seems fair to me, that would hurry them up to fix it

Yesterday was hilarious

We played sabotage to mix it up a bit and i enjoyed it loads.

I especially liked the part where Minimo picked up the bomb and said "Omg,iv'e got the bomb, what do i do now?!?" Priceless

I won't be playing Cod4 for a few weeks now by the time i come back i expect you'll all out rank me (im lvl47)

Have fun

I can't talk about Xbox Live because my console is currently dead but, the PS3 version suffers severely from not being able to join games, from constant resetting of your rank & stats so whilst you may think that XBL MIGHT be the cause, that Infinity Ward acknowledge they have problems it can also be attributed to them/that

I had an absolutely cracking game earlier today, a proper team based tactical game. Joined a game that ended up being randoms VS a group of Germans. They played it totally brilliantly but we came out on top, whatever they did we countered it, and the amazing thing was no one on my team was talking to each other yet everyone just seemed to know what to do.

Cracking game so it was.

That I lack in friends on PSN at the moment is crappy though. I'll just be glad when my 360 finally comes back, once i send it that is, so I can get it on that and play online with my friends there.

Iif it's no better tonight I might concentrate on the SP for a couple of days.

I tried to beat my time in the cargo ship time trial & in the process erased my previous save .

I managed to get 17:46 but it didn't record on the leaderboard, though I still got the acheivment for beating 19seconds.

Not sure if this is true but someone in a game last night said they heard a virus had been uploaded to the EA servers that CoD4/Activision is using for Xbox Live and it could take some time to fix.

Finally finished the game off last night, i have to say i found it a bit short SP wise and also left me a bit bewildered. The gfx on the game is superb in my opinion but i didnt think much of the game play...the missile abort level took me a few days to finish it...dont like how the enemies keep re-spawning...its quite annoying at times especially when you think you have cleared the area out...only find more enemies come streaming in.

Also theres a nice bonus level after the credits finish...quite interesting to say the least. Would have thought there would be an achievement for that but i dont know if i did it fast enough. I just barely did it with 4 secs remaining.

All in all not a bad game really, but now that im done with it ill be trading it in as the MP side doesnt interest me at all.

Well i rented this from blockbuster yesterday, started it about 1am, finished at 7am.

I didnt like how enemies kept respawning, because this means you keep having to put yourself in the line of fire, instead of picking everyone off then moving forward.

It was a good play anyways, the nuke going off was impressive, so were the little bits like shooting the 3 guys on the bridge at the end...

Ive not regretted just renting it though, as although I would probably replay it again on the highest level, there isnt enough there to warrant paying full price.. for the moment

I managed 2 games in 2 hours last night..... bloody LIVE!!!

It is just as bad over the past 2 or 3 days on LIVE as it is on PS3 by the sounds of it, so neither machine is getting a good deal at the moment. The only saving grace is that 360 doesnt seem to have the Stats/Ranks issues mentioned on the PS3, but still not good enough for either platform! Next Generation Gaming just took a nosedive and went back 10 years, this week.

I had problems on the PSN from around saturday to monday.

Yesterday I had absolutely no problems getting a game so thank God it's fixed.

I'm on level 17 which means i unlocked the perk to drop a grenade when I die.

God knows how many times i've been killed by someones grenade after killing them . Revenge.

I can never get people to fall for Martyrdom.

Though I did win a Free For All Deathmatch with it.

Last Stand is my pet hate. You get far to long to shoot before you die.

I've started the Single Player on 'Veteran' difficulty, so I'll play that if Live is FUCT (Failed Under Continued Testing) again. Was having no problems until I got into the TV Station.

Bloody hard! But fun.

Last stand?! Is that where people lie on the ground and shoot you with a pistol even though they should be dead?!?!

That gets on my nerves...I thought they just held in circle to lie prone!

I might have a go.

I know but I've finished the excellent single player and I'm itching to get myself and the rest of the world re-acquainted with my pimped MP5 .
Sad I know!

They did announce they were taking it down for an hour at midnight US time on the 13th for maintainance, but I am guessing that came and went and it hasnt solved it.

The maintenance was scheduled for midnight Pacific Time (around 8am this morning).

Has anyone played it since then? *fingers crossed*

What's everyone's favourite weapon?

Mine is the MP5 ....though sometimes I have to shoot non stop for a good while before the person dies....and if they have a more powerful weapon and turn round they can kill me first.

Guys just to let you know I will probably not be online for the next couple of days. In the middle of packing my stuff up to move to a new house on Saturday. Luckily the guys I'm moving in with already have broadband (but it's only 8Mb instead of the 22Mb I'm used too ) and a Ethernet port in my new room so I may be online Sat night....unless they have other plans

My perfect set up

Primary weapon: G36C (with silencer)

Secondry weapon: Desert Eagle

Perk 1: 3 Frag grenades
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Deep Impact

I love sneaking up behind enemy lines and taking out 3 or 4 troops witout anyone having a clue where i am.

With the Uav Jammer and silencer combined no one ever see's me on the radar!

With the silencer attached I take it that means you don't show up on the enemy radar when you shoot? If so does it still show the enemy once you kill them a replay of you shooting them? As if that is the case that's really annoying as the person you just killed now knows where you are.
