Infinity Ward kind of confirms Modern Warfare 2

Voice over work for the sequel has already been recorded.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has revealed that voice over work for Modern Warfare 2 has already been recorded.

"Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today. 'Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all,'"
said Bowling on his blog.

While the highly anticipated sequel is yet to be announced by Activision, confirmation that voice over work has been recorded as good as guarantees it's coming.

Late last year reports emerged from an upfront - an event where publishers showcase their line-up to advertisers - indicating a Modern Warfare sequel will be released this autumn. A November 2009 release date wouldn't be a great surprise.

I wonder if there will be a Modern Warfare 2 Beta Demo during the summer of this year. (just like COD4 and World at War had done before)

Erm... probably?

In a more serious, and more interesting question, I wonder which actors will play characters this year! Could any of the last lot make a return??

I thought they weren't releasing any new modes?

HC HQ's would be classified a new mode wouldn't it?

The HARDCORE HEADQUARTERS playlist will be added on Friday 27th along with Double XP
It's not out yet..

And Starting Tuesday Feb. 24th, the Variety Map Pack will become %50 off for those of you who still need to pick it up.

Yeah, but I thought they'd announced that they were not going to be putting anymore effort into this game?

Im happy about Hard Core HQ's but the feeling that its too little too late still remains.

After being promised new modes for an eternity only to see nothing was a real let down and after moving onto WaW and L4D I can't help the feeling of being let down by Infinity Ward. COD4 was truly EPIC, it could have been more so had the support been better, the 'Variety Map Pack' I thought was a rip off.

I will however be joining some friends I haven't played with in ages though so tahsta good thing. It should be fun seeing as I haven't touched this game in a month or two now even though at one stage I couldn't put it down!

I think the success of COD4 really took IW by surprise, they thought they were producing a yearly update to an established game franchise (just like Need For Speed), that they could instantly forget about once it was released. When in actuality they produced a gaming phenomenon.

If they had the balls and the brains to say "Sod it! Lets run with COD4 and see here it takes us" they could have produced monthly weapons, perks, game modes and maps and been left with a game that was iconic and probably still number one to this day. Unfortunately all the innovation went into the game rather than the business model.

Of course they are tied into producing COD games on a 2 year cycle, so unless they suddenly employ loads more staff we won't see much difference when MW2 comes out. I wonder if they have even considered investing in dedicated servers this time round?

MW2 might get 2 map packs this time, but at the end of the day IW will be focusing their time and money on COD8 once MW2 is released.

The thing I would really like to see in COD4 or MW2 is negative XP. If you're $hit at the game then you shouldn't get positive XP points, you should lose them. This way you wouldn't end up with prestige 10 boys that can't shoot for toffee and only got there from camping in dark corners on team games.

I don't think people should be punished for not being good at the game. Especially if they just play for fun. Besides, you only get XP at the min for doing good anyway e.g: killing someone, capturing objectives etc.
