I just made major, well rank 34, and as soon as it went to the intermission screen my XP points said my next rank up was minus 37 thousand and something points !

It's also locked up all my stuff as well even though I'm at 34. Is this a known issue or is that me just screwed royal style ?

and that's it, stuck on downloading settings and back to it saying i'm constantly signed out of PSN.

What the hell just happened !

It signed me out of the game with an error message saying something like "cannot connect to activision server" and so i just came out of the game - lucky i was playing it a good few hours before, or i'd be pretty mad.

They seem to be having connection problems of late, so keep calm like me and check it out later on, all previous times its only take an hour or two to resolve the problems.

I've only got another 6 ranks to go before getting prestige mode!

Just one more thing i forgot to meantion:

You know the ship level in the story mode? i've been playing the game now for a cumulative time of about 24 hours, and i've never actually played a single multiplayer game on that map.

Is there a certain game mode that the map is only playable in or something? does anyone know? has anyone played a multiplayer game on that map?

It is there in the LAN and split-screen map selection page, i just find it odd. Oh, and there is another really tiny map on there too, havn't played that either...

I've played the ship level once on multiplayer. It was team objective, defuse the bomb.

Great fun because you get to use the night vision goggles.

The ship level (Weework) comes up fairly regularly on X Box. The other really small ones are Vacant & Shipment. Vacant comes up quite a lot, Shipment less so.

Showdown is the only one that never comes up for me, a shame as I enjoyed it when it did!

I'm almost always calm but this is testing my patience lol !

The reason it's annoying me most is that initially I had the same problems as most other people but they the went away and it was working fine . . until tonight. Was sat playing it having a laugh, me and a friend, my game finished then it all just went to shh... well you know what ;p

Now I'm having to play on my second rank which at the moment is 8, it won't load up 7 or my proper rank which is 34. It either gets stuck on downloading settings which i have not suffered until tonight actually, that was one difference, or it will only load rank 8.

So me and my brother figured well lets just get rank 8 up seeing as how a patch is not currently in sight. Might as well make do with what we've got and rank back up again.

Course that will all be to waste IF and WHEN the patch fixes this whole mess up !

About the ship map, me nor my brother nor my mate have ever played on that map and I've had the game since release. It's not the only map either at that which we haven't seen at all. The same maps just keep popping up time & again ...

Shipment hardly comes up for me and its a good map.

Wetworks only comes up on XboxLive with Search and Destroy missions i have found. I have never played it on any other gametype except that one but it comes up occasionaly if you play S&D.

I have never played Shipment and not even sure if i have played showdown either...... and thats after 20hour of multiplayer playing.

About 12 of us played free for all in a private mach on shipment earlier, it was chaos!! Everyone was just dying as they were spawning lol. Andys kills was something like 60 odd!
Then we played the same game, same map, but headshots only which was really good fun!!

Starting to get better and Search and Destroy now, just won about 5 matches then, but had to come off to get the baby ready for bed.

Youll have to start coming on earlier creme-egg... actually no.. dont.. you've bloody past my rank now cos i been playing Assassins Creed you bugger! lol

I hated Shipment the first time I played it, but it's grown on me. It is utter madness.

Played some Search & Destroy mataches last night, after being disconnected from the clan game, with a team who all used silencers & UAV jammers. It worked a treat as the opposition had no idea where we were until it was too late.

Maybe that's something we can try.

I tried UAV jammer but lost my stopping power perk so got rid of it again. But G36C with a silencer is pretty awsome.

Had a few good S&D games again last night. Tactics are getting better, people seem to be learning from each others playing styles and it is getting really good now. Even when Sinner cant chat it still seems like we work well together. We presume you can hear us even tho you cant speak lol.

Maybe he needs one of them annoying sign-language peepz that you get on late night BBC telly.

Oh I'm back on XboxLive by the way, after a week of E74 (ethernet) problems with my 360. Had it collected last thursday and its been returned already with the problem fixed.

I need to get some COD4 time in, as I'm only on rank 25, and all you lot have left me for dust.

Well i have got it today,currently playing single player,i like it

LOVED it ! played it thru day one and the online play is amazing as per usual !

I never get time to play single player..... I have only just started the first Marines mission lol

Damn that Multiplayer side of it!!!

I can talk most of the time now as im on different times, but obviously when im on about 10 at night, i cant talk cos of the baby sleeping. I understand its a pain during tactical matches but im sorry lol

excuses, Just admit you have no will power .

It doesnt seem to make much difference you not talking at night, you still manage to get loads of kills and defuse bombs and stuff so its fine

My kill/death ratio has improved, it is around the 4,600+ kills and 2,450 deaths mark.

I just made rank 53.

I unlocked the "elite" challenges, and they are pretty good - things like kill the same person on the opposite team five times in a single match, and kill the opposition teams MVP ten times in a match - i've got a few so far, but some of the "humiliation" challenges are fookin tricky!

I think the hardest one will be "kill someone by shooting through a wall and detonating a C4 using bullet penetration"

I got the Kill 3 people with a Frag grenade one thanks to minimo standing too close to a couple of DSers i was fighting against when i couldnt join their party but got to play against them.

Mind you, i got a row for not trying to sabotage the american team i was on at the time

If i delete all related saved information with COD4 on my ps3's HDD there is no guarentee that the current issues won't trigger the same effect again is there ?

By this i mean that the having 3 rank profiles on the hard drive issue, which at the moment is proving even bigger a pain in the backside since one profile has me as rank 34 yet all the low level unlockable stuff is locked again, yet on my other 34 rank everything is fine, at least it was last night when I finished playing with it !

My brother's lending my xbox over the weekend and he want's to start fresh on multiplayer because he wants to enjoy the acheivments,and i'm not too bothered about my rank(i only seem to use the AK47)

Do i simply wipe my cod4 save?
