Double XP all weekend! Yeah!

I had a few games last night and owned it!! one game got a 15 kill streak and didnt die once, would have got more but i totally run out of ammo, that includes taking someone elses gun!

Also we played a game it ended up 3 of us v 6 of them and we won!! i got 322 points and my team mates got 100 and 60!

This means im going to get my ass handed to me on a plate next time though

Those 1v1 games are intense i think they are great! anyone else played them?

Infinity Ward has announced a double XP weekend for the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty 4. Beginning Friday at 18:00 GMT and ending on Monday, December 10 at 18:00 GMT, Call of Duty 4 players will be able to level up twice as fast.

This makes it the perfect time to rank up and unlock a host of new and exciting Perks.

Why only on the PS3?

I imagine is as a sort of apology for all the problems caused bay the ranks resetting and noboby being able to rank-up!!

Double points for ranking up?? Doesnt that take away from the fact your working hard to rank up rather than virtually handed them on a plate? I am glad that isnt on the Xbox as well cos i would feel it a bit of a rip off if i was ranking up every game or two when i am at the higher ranks. The quicker you rank up, the quicker you get to the end of the whole ranking up thing and the quicker it gets boring.

Jedi..... I KNOW you were on last night until well past 3am trying to rank up so are you going to tell me what your rank is now?

To be fair cream-egg you have to reset your ranking like 5 times to become a COD4 Legend.

I've never had my rank reset, and i've probably played the game more than most poeple! its a myth!

I didn't suffer the rank reset problem until this weekend, played for an hour Saturday lunch time and went up a couple of ranks, turned off the console to do something else.

Started up again Saturday evening and was back down to my original lowly rank so played for another hour or so and again ranked up and the turned off the PS3 to watch TV, back on again Sunday morning and yet again back down in rank!!

I checked the IW forums and it seems that this weekend it just went nuts and reset nearly everybody.

Played Monday and kept the ranks I'd earned.

my rank didnt reset, but i ranked from 40-42 the other night, then when i logged back on i was rank 40 again. Its been fine ever since. i think that was at the weekend

When I say "reset" I don't mean all the way back down to 1, I mean back to your rank when you start playing.

i.e. On Saturday I was rank 16 and after playing for an hour I got upto rank 19 then I stopped, when I started again it was back down to 16!! That's what I mean by reset.

I think i have been lucky, as i've not had the connection problems others have had too.

I played over the weekend, in fact i've basically played the game to death - i'm rank 55 for the second time, as i've already reset my rank! so that tells you how much i've played.

If its double-XP points this weekend, i think i'll reset my rank and i reckon i could get to rank 26 within the hour. On average i get about 260 points per game of team deathmatch, sometimes more, but i've played the game so much, i just never get under 20 kills per game, just because i now know the maps so well.

I want new maps please !

Infinity Ward has rolled out a new patch for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

We're still waiting to hear from Activision as to when 360 and PS3 soldiers can expect it, and we will let you know as soon as we do.

im getting this for the pc for xmas as i prefer keyboard + mouse fps and just wondering

I wasn't on last night as my internet wasnt letting me sign into live.

No cross platform support on COD4.

Oh and guys sorry last night if you saw me online playing Halo 3 instead of COD4 (shocking I know!). But we were having a Halo 3 LAN party in my house which was rather fun to be honest. Good thing is I've convinced everyone to have a COD4 LAN party next time
