In saying that, I don't really see what getting the gold guns really does for you in the scheme of things.
You and Andy have re ranked a lot. To get through those ranks, I would imagine you need a fair amount of kills and in that time got your head shots.
Someone stays on rank 1 or 2 and gets the gold guns. What's the difference? It's just two different goals at the end of the day. One went one way and the others went the other.
I don't think there really is an opportunity for bragging rights with the gold guns. All they are are shiny examples of what you and Andy would've had by now had you not re ranked.
I guess all it means is - you know the person you're playing with/against in the game, is a lot more comfortable with that/those particular gun/s.
To each their own.
TH14 - no matter how "useless" you think you are, you will get better over time. It's a game that requires practice and some sort of knowledge in how gamers are starting to play in certain maps. You get that over time. Don't be overwhelmed by x-p-d's stats and running yourself down in light of them. He's the only one that does that and it's because he's proud and should be. Plus he used to play the game with a lot of DS'ers on the beta version so likes to keep us up to date since he defected to the PS3.

I reckon by my points tally i would have prestiged at least 8 or 9 times by now - and i only play team deathmatch, thats why i'm up to 30,000 kills now.
I've decided to plough my way through single player and get some experience that way then I'll give online another go. TBH it's the first FPS game I've played properly so it's taking a bit of time to get used to
