The Javelin from the single-player would be pretty good, although there isn't anything really to lock onto, you could just have it lock on to a person.

would it be so much to ask for a sniper rifle with a silencer attatchment?

I can't belive that sniper players are all 'gillied' up in thier 'stealth suits' and then they have a gun that sounds like a firework going off.

There aren't many Online games that allow silencers on Sniper Rifles simply because it ruins the balance and fairness of the game, they already have a zoomed weapon so snipers have to have an equal chance of being found by another player like everyone else, and it encourages them to stop being lazy and move around the map when they've taken a shot

While we're at it can we have a sniper rifle that a) doesn't move around all over the place when you try to aim (even when you're laying down) & b) has a zoom function so you can zoom out a bit - it would make aiming a lot easier.

In the meantime, the M16A4 with ACOG scope is a great substitute. 26-6 against DS' finest last night with it.

You just press in the left stick. It stays in one spot then.
Some snipers are worse than eachother though.
I can use the Druganov and the first sniper you have without having to hold my breath.. the others are all over the place!!

I find holding your breath with the left stick quite awkward as I often move at the same time.

It's a bit strange when the first assault rifle (M16) with a stick on scope is better than the last sniper rifle you unlock (Barrett).

The order overall is weird, too. Surely the MP5 is far superior to the the Uzi & Skorpion so it should be unlocked later?
The Assault rifles are about right, apart from the last one which is basically an SMG.

To be honest i stick to all the first weapons unless im completing challenges. I think the only gun i use which i have to unlock is the RPD. It is strange how they set up the guns i agree.

Personally, I think the skorpion is better than the mp5 but thats just me!
As for the mini Uzi i cant understand why they did not put its full size counterpart in the game instead! it would be comparable to most of the other smgs!

MP5 K Varient should have been the starting SMG and then MP5 should have come about at Rank 20 or higher in my opinion:

and I think the Steyr would make a good visually alternative rifle with great accuracy and lightweight to allow longer on sprint (like how the P90 allows longer sprint distance)

They had to have at least one "good" gun at the beginning in my opinion. Imagine the frustration of ranking up when you first get the game if people who are used to FPS are all way ahead of you with good guns unlocked. Newbies need at least a slim chance of keeping up.

Besides, most guns are what you make of them. As someone else said, some of the guns you unlock much higher up are rubbish. (But again, could be brilliant for others!)

It's all about how you play the game yourself and which gun suits your habits. It's alright asking for advice, but someone else's playing mode may not suit you.

What exactly happens when you do it ? I know you lose your weapons, but do you lose your achievements too ?

Yep you lose everything, even your challenges. The only thing you get in return is a new rank badge that stays with you the whole way through you're next lot. Unlike the first time around when you got a different badge each time.

I can understand loosing the weapons but is it really necessary to have to re-do the same challenges 10 times!!

I'm only at lvl21. Do you have to complete all the challenges to progress to lvl55 or is it all down to XP only.

It is all down to XP.

You don't have to do all the challenges to re rank.

However, I believe, part of the reason they reset is to HELP you with your XP throughout all 55 lvls. If you didn't have those to get then it would be very slow going.

I only aim for the challenges that I know I can do. I will save doing them all for when (if) I reach number 10.

It does become relatively easier as you become more used to the game.

You can choose to stay at Rank 1 and get golden guns (for which you have to complete the challenges on the gun, all of them.)

It's really up to you. If you don't think it's worth while then it probably isn't for you.

Ah, forgot about the XP part of them. pity you don't get 250 points every time you kill yourself!!

To try and get the discussion going again, what's everyones favourite spots in a map?

Mine is behind the tank in the middle of Ambush. It's especially good for Domination.

Most of the enemy come down the middle path to capture B, as it's the shortest route, so you can stick your head round the corner take a few pot shots & then go back behind it again.

Using a silencer it normally takes a few minutes for the other team to get fed up and come and kill me.

I used to like the dark corner on Pipeline, where the inside Search & Destroy target is, but most people are aware of that hiding spot now.

I have a new hiding spot on Crash i like. Which is great for S&D or HQ games. You go into the lower floor of the tall building (the kitchen area) and then hop up onto the Oven near the door so that you have a great view of the interior. Then if anyone rushes in to get to the HQ or BOMB place you can shoot them easily.
As long as someone is covering the outside stairs to the next floor they just dont learn your there until you get a good 10 kills or so.
