Probably something to do with manufacture, distribution and meeting demand on launch day I guess.

He'll get a lot of practise in then!

There's no one for him to play it against lol!

Hope he enjoys.

How much for?

Seems a risk and a bit of a waste to just get it a meer 2 or 3 days early!

Maybe I am just more patient in my old age

I guess but most of the fun came from having a laugh with people u knew and expected to play against IMHO.

Anyway, lucky sod got it early that's all that counts!

yeah he got it for £30 as i had a message in my xboxlive saying that.
Well having seen his Beta stats I can honestly say that I dont see him getting a few days practice in as being a big disadvantage to most players...... even minimo had a better shooting acuracy statistic

Hey..... its November today...... we are into the COD4 month now!!!

I've forgotten to pre-order it, will do it when I get back to the Travel Inn tonight. Good thing is the game comes out on the same day that I finish working in England, so I will be back home to play it every night with you guys

Get it for the 360, You know you want to

Who would you rather play it with?

People on PS3 or X360?

Are you getting it just to play the game and enjoy that aspect of it

or

Are you getting it to have a laugh with people every other night and then play it for the hell of it?

What's your pros and cons for each one?

You haven't long to decide!

Minimo is getting the 360 version (aren't you Minimo?) so that alone should be a big reason to get the 360 version. Do you really want to play online with PS3 owners or would you rather play with us lot?

Depends on whether your going for the collectors edition too.
If you ARE going for that you get a LOT more goodies with the 360 version and very few with the PS3 version.

If you are just getting the bog standard version it wont make as much difference tho.

Gee thanks for that!

I'm sure he'll appreciate being compared to ME!

We're on different levels of game play. This is my first real shooter or game of this nature. I really enjoyed playing the game with you guys and that's part of the enjoyment of it for me. I doubt I'd enjoy the game half as much if I was just playing with random people.
With practise I will get better.

I too have the option of getting it for either the PS3 or X360 but there was never any competition in my mind. I think the game looks great on both platforms from what I've seen, and I know I'll always went to dip into playing it. I play more on the X360 and that decided it for me.

My only problem now is my bloomin' console seems to be on it's way out. But I guess I'll have to deal with that when it happens.

Did anyone just get an email from Xbox live regarding CoD4?

Quote:
“The latest instalment in the Call of Duty series trades the realities of World War II for those of today. Through its cinematic storyline you'll play as a variety of soldier classes performing different roles, from acting as part of a two-man sniper unit through to manning the guns on an AC-130 gunship. The gameplay is varied and always intense, as one minute you're engaged in manic fire fights while the next you're in the midst of a nerve-shredding stand-off.

All of this gritty warfare is sugar-coated with brilliant online multiplayer options and some of the most realistic visuals yet seen, that marry verdant environments with devastated cityscapes. Call of Duty 4 is certainly one of the must-have video games of 2007. The demo requires your urgent attention, soldier!”

What demo?

That's odd

I thought the demo was over? I deleted it from mine anyway...
