I guess thats my prob but I even find on wetworks and theres a guy on the opposite side that my silenced ak74-u just shoots a pefect bullet whole image around the guy while he just pumps me with his p-90 lol

Would you recommend a better silenced gun? I went with the ak74-u becuase the dmg on it is so good that I wouldnt need stopping power and frees up the UAV Jammer.

I just like the idea of being able to take ppl down at a distance strike/district/countdown/overgrown but would love to get up close. Maybe might start with the overkill and team up my m16 and a smg.
If you want a silenced gun with a bit more range then the AK47 is a good choice. You can take stopping power off and it will still kill very quickly. The M14 is good silenced, as well, if you can put up with the iron sights.

For a silenced SMG I'd go with either the MP5, Mini Uzi or P90. The range is still not bad and the sights are good for accurate aiming.

Activision have announced that new downloadable multiplayer maps are currently in development for Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"We've demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content," explains Infinity Ward's Community Manager, Robert Bowling.

"We're excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can't wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone."

Some good games last night apart from that Sabotage game against the campers.

There were quite a lot of us on, as well. The only problem with that is we're stuck with Ground Wars, which I hate.

If we get more than 6 in a lobby again I don't mind defecting to the other side so we can play some decent matches.

Mini-Uzi with silencer, bandolier, double-tap, and steady aim. you'll kill people quicker than you've ever seen shooting from the hip. I dont use a scope personally, as i only no-scope 'em.

That was going to be my next Q as I used a stealth setup for the first time lastnight. Do you hip it or sight it?

I tried the P90 but that just doesn't suit me at all, I felt like i was in a mafia movie the way i was swing from side to side to get kills lol

Had a fun night lastnight, and as I've mostly used the red dot and my trusty m16 it was weird going back to the metal sights but I found I started to complete those kill chains that I wasn't able to before bringing me air strikes and heli's.

I do tend to spray away with the P90 too.

With the 'steady-aim' perk, you have increased hip-fire, so in my experience, it is just as accurate as using the sights - its great with guns which have rubbish iron-sights, but for really, really close shooting on smaller maps, you waste a split-second trying to zoom in on the red-dot, it takes even longer to zoom into the red-dot sight if you are sprinting, so shooting from the hip is great for the times when someone pops out from a corner, or you have multiple targets.

All you need to do is make sure the enemy is within the thin white crosshairs. If you include double-tap on a sub-machine gun, you take people down much quicker, because all those bullets that might have missed, you make up because you're shooting twice as many!

It only really works in close range, but you can shoot people from about 30 feet away in the game as long as you make sure you dont waste all the ammo. When they're close, it only takes a very short burst indeed to kill them.

I dont use a scope on my Uzi, because i just hip-fire all the time, but i've had the AK-74u with red-dot, as it is slightly more accurate, so you can shoot with confidence at a longer range - anything further than that, i just use a rifle; G3 or M4.

I tend to do a bit of both.

If I'm at close range (especially if the enemy has noticed you) then I always shoot from the hip. You can aim much quicker and strafe your opponent, if necessary.

If someone runs past, without seeing me I will generally use the sights to make sure I get a quick kill.

Anyhting out of close range & I'll aim with the sights.

Don't bother equipping a scope for anything other than an assualt rife or LMG that has 'long range' in the description. The accuracy is awful.

To get used to shooting from the hip, next time you're in one of the small maps eg Vacant, Shipment force yourself not to use the sights & only shoot from the hip.

You'll get the hang of it quickly, this way.

Thanks for the tips

I was using the P90 and the m5 for the first time last night and although I was gettin as many kill as deaths it just felt random. I'll try shooting from the hip... just dont be suprised to hear me screaming "Say hello to my lil friend!!!" during games lol

I have to say though I was using the g36c with silencer and was getting ok results but for games such as vacant i'll give the p90 a go

Those maps are very good for flanking enemies & a SMG with a high fire rate is the best type of gun for that.

Snipers generally have Overkill on and most go for a P90 to use while getting to their camp and to fend off attackers.

Vacant (stay in the corridors) Shipment and Showdown and Possibly District. Overgrown is pushing it i would call that a medium sight range map

You could treat most maps as "small" maps if you stay withtin spaces where you are going run into people at close range i.e in houses, corriords, gateways

Overgrown seems to have become all about sniping normalyl about 4+ are sniping on that level

some people call countdown a sniper level but I wouldn't as there is no real good places to snipe from. You're pretty exposed where ever you are. I prefer to use the M16A4 on tha level with red dot sight.

Although I did see someone run around on there with a shotgun like a mad man! he didnt do bad!

I had lent my Xbox360 copy to a friend for most of January and only got it back last week, hence my absence!! I had to keep my fix on the PS3!!!

Back now though and need to keep ranking up!!

Tried this on Search & Destroy on Vacant last night. Worked a treat.

9 kills 1 death & an abusive message accusing me of glitching.

When i got my 35 kill streak, the host ended the game and i got a message off them accusing me of cheating. That was with the uzi/double tap. I dont know what i could have got if the game continued.

It does annoy me when people accuse me of cheating, just because they aren't very good. How the hell can i cheat!?

One bloke said i was a hacker, and i hacked it so that i couldn't die. How!? lol then after the lobby shuffled about a bit, he ended up on my team, he said to his m8 he was going to go into the observe mode and see if i was hacking. I went on Wetwork and got 54 - 4 and he didn't say a word. His m8 then sends me a friend request and message sucking up to me. WTH
