i brough COD 4 and completed it in 5 hours, i was expecting alot more (life span)

It is a bit short..... then again, i still havent finished the single player cos the damn multiplayer keeps dragging me away!!!

Hopefully. I was a bit disappointed with the game modes as they're just the bog standard ones you get with most FPS and don't really fit in with the mood of the game.

It's still a hell of a lot more fun than any other game online, due to the gameplay, but the match types are a bit unimaginative.

What were you expecting?

I want some kind of VIP game mode, like RS: Vegas

I've only really started playing this online the last couple of nights.

And very addictive... I started around 11:30pm tonight, & have only just turned the 360 off...didn't mean to play that long... I have to get up for work in 5 hours lol.

They could have made the flags on Domination & bomb targets on Search & Destroy/Sabotage fit more in with the game rather than just random flags or green bins.

There's no difference between the different factions (apart from looks) there could have been seperate weapons/perks to add a bit more variety. And when you change sides at half time you should have changed to the other faction (as in COD2).

Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant game - the best of it's type - it just could have been better.

Nah, I don't think these images of the new maps are genuine! First off the community map design competition doesn't close until March 30th, and why would community and IW devs waste all that time blabbering about new maps when they are simply copy and pasted from the campaign?

Maps 2 & 3 were pulled straight from the campaign, and Infinity Ward said only a fraction of maps will be from story mode, the rest completely brand new. Map 2 looks a lot like a modern take on Toujane from Call Of Duty 2! I'll be annoyed if those are the genuine maps, they're a bit drab and uninspired and not worth the wait, I played through most of them already in campaign mode!

Virtually confirmed the 3 new maps are genuine..... and possibly the only maps coming in the first DLC!

Continuing in our interview with Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling, we learn that Infinity Ward not only has new DLC on the way, but included in that, are three new maps.
While details on the new maps were scarce, we did learn that gamers looking for wide open environments, close quarters, and new locations, will all be happy.

Bowling said that Infinity Ward is listening to the community. Everyday he's checking the Call of Duty 4 forums and his blog for suggestions and comments. Also, they check Youtube quite frequently to check for the latest glitches - the "Pipeline Glitch" is one example of something Infinity Ward is already looking at to be fixed.

"We are very proactive when it comes to negative comments on the community forums," Bowling said. "We want to provide the best online experience we can..."

Lastly before the interview was over, we talked about how the new "Features Patch" will enable Infinity Ward to dynamically change the playlist settings for the online modes. Bowling said that so far, they have only changed the playlists two or three times, where as when the new patch is released they will be able to switch it up, add additional modes to the playlist frequently.

"With the new patch we will be able to play around with the playlists, add new modes more frequently, and change game rules," he said.

Then according to how the community feels and how popular the modes become, Infinity Ward can alter or remove them.

While Bowling was hesitant to talk specifics, he was able to confirm that the first maps will be available in a pack of three. In terms of what gamers can expect from the maps, he insists that the theme here is variety, taking cues from what their community has asked for.

"We're fortunate to have a very big community," says Bowling, "so they're the ones who know what's getting old, or what they want to see."

Overwhelming, the community was interested in three key elements -- more open, larger scale maps; open maps with close quarters; more buildings with no closed doors; and completely new locales. When pushed for specifics, Bowling only relies on this criteria to drop hints.

"People who want open maps are going to be happy with this map pack," he says. "People who want more indoor locales are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want something completely different from what they're currently playing are going to be happy with this map pack."

He also notes that the team are working on a number of different concepts, and is clear that even more content can be expecting in the future.

"We plan on supporting our game for a very long time," he tells me. "As I said, we have a large community. We're currently number one on Xbox LIVE, so we have a lot of people playing. So we're going to continue to support the community that keeps supporting us. We have a lot of cool ideas that we're working on, and we're going to keep making maps until we're done."

When asked about the possibilities of future perks or weapons via downloadable content, Bowling tells me that the idea had been "thrown around," but that there are currently no plans. I also asked him if the inevitable release Call of Duty 5 would be a roadblock to future content, and he was clear that wouldn't be the case.

"We don't dictate how much we update our game based on what other studios do," he says, almost certainly confirming Infinity Ward's lack of participation in the upcoming sequel. "So if another game comes out, that doesn't mean we stop supporting ours."

I knew there was a chance they'd be genuine, but I'm really disappointed if these are the only 3. May not even bother paying for them. What's the point if I won't enjoy them.

In saying that, if they're coming with the patch, I'm guessing that these may be free bog standard ones that they want all players to own.

Oh well.

I really hope they support the game with DLC like GRAW2 has been treated, by Ubisoft - the amount of maps and stuff for download is nothing short of awesome.

The TV Station & Heat maps should be pretty fun. You need new maps every so often so stop the game getting tired.

Not sure about the other one as if it's the rescue mission, the level only lasts a minute so I couldn't really take it in.

Good news, that'll they'll be updating the game modes and that COD4 won't die when COD5 comes out & that the Pipeline glitch will be fixed.

You can't have the mod community like on the PC so good to see IW (appear) to be taking the initiative.

I'm looking forward to fighting on map3.

So anyone got any preferences for new game modes they'd like to see added to multiplayer?

I think a pistol only hardcore round would be entertaining...

and its big brother the RPG only round!

Of course what i really want is a custard pie round, one pie each and the winner being the one who hasn't been hit

Some sort of VIP Escort game mode.

Maybe some sort of Assault Mode where one team is attackers and one defenders and attackers have to complete 3 mission objectives in order in the quickest time.... be sort of a mix of S&D and HQ..... then change sides and the other side have to do it quicker or record a loss.

Just wish they'd sort the lobby system so you could see the games running and choose which one you wanted to play in, also wish they would stop joining you into a game with less than a minute to go for that great Instant Defeat moment...hate that...

Well I finally finished the Single Player campaign last night, and unlocked arcade and everything else that comes with it!

Did the FNG mission and got 18. (something) seconds!! A WOOHOO!!

Now for veteran mode. Yes, I can see that taking MANY MANY attempts to complete lol. Ah well. All part of the fun!

Congrats (although it took you long enough), Ive hardly played CoD4 online this week(think I may go online now), spent my time finishing the single player on veteran.
