Can someone tell me how the golden gun challenges work? I havn't been intrested in it before, so havn't a clue how it all works.

Anyone know anymore on when this patch will be available ? it can't be long now.

To get the Gold Desert Eagle you "just" have to reach level 55.

To get a Gold Assault Rifle, SMG, LMG, Shotgun and/or a Gold Sniper Rifle you will need to complete all the challenges for the guns in that class.

i.e. Get max kills and max head shots for both the Shotguns will get you a Gold Shotgun.

I'd add that the MP44 is the most crappiest accurate gun there is, and you cannot put a red dot sight on it or anything, so if you're going for the golden AK-47, then complete the MP44 challenges first and get them out of the way!

To be honest i wont have any problem with that gun, i don't mind not using scopes anyhow.It is the AK-47 and the second last rifle you unlock that i find the biggest pain in the arses.

Yeah but the iron sights on the MP44 are terrible - its the last gun you unlock, and it has terrible recoil, so you'll have to pick people off, and considering you cannot put a sight on it, thats why its a damn pain!

- 360 patch due hopefully this weekend,
- PS3 patch in certification and due very very soon,
- Video footage of one new map in action due in the next day or two on Game Trailers and official map screenshots for the loading screens being taken too.
- Playlists and Game Modes to come shortly after the patches are released this coming week.

Just played COD4 on the PS3 and have to say i was pretty surprised. There was NO lag, it was quicker to get into games than the 360, but it looked exactly the same (expected PS3 version to look better).
The main difference i noticed is how the PS3 version is 'faster' than the 360. Its like the speed is turned up a notch, and the gameplay is quicker.
Also i noticed they dont play the same as the 360 players lol. Every game i got into, people were everywhere, and not sniping, not camping - they were bloody behind you, coming to your left, right and bloody above you.
I seriously cant get used to the controller though, the shoulder buttons are opposite ways, and the left stick is positioned differently, but im sure ill get used to it.
Managed to get to rank 8 i think in an hour, and i was doing badly till the last game and got 22 kills and 4 deaths.

Another strange thing is.. its awfully quiet. NOONE uses a mic lol except the odd one or two - which sounded like robots

After playing.. im starting to think what was i paying Microsoft for the gold account... there was no difference at all!
