Well I only do Shotgun Ninja attacks on Wetworks as its the best map for getting quick easy kills on with a shotgun!

Are you bored of FPS games set in increasingly obscure WWII battles with the same rubbish pop guns and the same overall gameplay? So is Infinity Ward.

The team that yanked the Call of Duty series kicking and screaming into the modern era with CoD 4 says it "couldn't muster the same passion" for the old-age battle in an article by Infinity Ward's Zeid Rieke and Michael Boon.

"Call of Duty 4 was Infinity Ward's third Call of Duty game, and as such we approached it knowing we needed to do something fresh. We don't want to pigeonhole ourselves any more than we have to, and many members of the team came off Call of Duty 2 promising never to work on another WWII game", explained Infinity Ward in Game Developer magazine (via Game Set Watch).

Hence came the modern setting for Call of Duty 4. Infinity Ward does however go on to say that it doesn't think the games industry should abandon the big war of the twentieth century.

"Coming off Call of Duty 2, we knew we wanted to do something different for our next game," it added, saying, "we don't agree with some critics who say that WWII as a genre is dead."

It continued, "but we couldn't muster the same passion for the subject that we had in our first three WWII games (Call of Duty 1 and 2 and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault)."

We, on the other hand, do think WWII has been done to death already, and it's time to leave it alone.

I thought you got it for the PS3 to play with your "real life" mates? That was the decision between that and the 360er's here.

Nope. 4 maps; Creek, Kill House, Broadcast and Chinatown.

Come on man. Everybody I know stopped playing Vegas 1 when COD 4 came out after playing it for months on end. As soon as Vegas 2 hits you'll be seeing plenty COD4 games in your local gamestation pre-owned section!

To be honest, with GTA IV coming out on the PS3, GT5, MGS4 and the rest of them, i can't see a good enough reason to buy another 360 game. I can't think of any decent exclusives that i'd like coming out soon, so, i dont know.

I dont..... what i think will happen is lots of people will buy Vegas 2 while still keeping COD4!

Why trade a bloody good game just to get another game that nicks a few of COD4 ideas? Why not have both and trade in Assassins Creed instead?

Anyone that trades in COD4 now for Vegas 2 when there are new maps/game modes and other features on the horizon is gonna look a bit of a fool when everyone deserts Vegas 2 again in a couple of months time

Right.. but whoever plays DLC maps though? The fact that people have to pay for a couple of naff maps rules out the concept of them being mainstream and thus they will very rarely appear in the map cycle, everyone will just stick to the box standard maps like in every other game since the beginning of the universe.

Vegas 2 doesn't look that fancy anyway, something like GOW 2 will probably kill COD4 with no mercy... at least with the American side of Xbox Live as they seem to love dross like Gears yet it barely gets touched anywhere else.

I don't know, the game is on PS3 too, so minimo put it in the right place to start with, now the mods messed up by moving it.

I thought Vegas was pants myself.. definitely wont even bother looking at the second let alone trade my copy of Call of Duty 4 in.

And on PC. I've got it on PS3 - but I guess only the 360 players must have been judged to truly appreciate it, after 80 pages of deliberation - despite Stattospur requesting yesterday for a PS3 COD4 subsection to be created to prevent COD4 threads overrunning the section.

Did anyone actually ask for it to be moved, or was it just a mistake?

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 only got a 7 in Edge magazine this month - I think I'll hire before I buy it. I quite enjoyed the first Vegas but the new one looks a bit samey, desert towns, casinos, office buildings etc. - I only paid a tenner for it due to a screw up at Argos so that helps.

I still have a bunch of stuff to play before GTAIV - Bioshock, Dead Rising, Crackdown (without the cheat mode) , Oblivion and the DLC for COD4 will be good. I think there will be a huge takeup of the new maps by players and those who don't have them will be in a minority.
