IW must have buckled to the incessant whining of the hardcore freaks and added the new mode early.

Just started playing this online, i must say its good but im really bad lol never match up to the brother on this;

Good games last night on the new maps chaps (and chap-ess). Still having love / hate issues with claymores but I am enjoying hardcore mode.

The new maps are cool but Creek still feels unbalanced with the 'street' side of the map having too many sniping advantages during search and destroy. It's more fun on Deathmatch because of the shifting spawn points. Minnimo seems to have a lemming like attraction to falling off the cliffs which is pretty hilarious too.

Now I know my way around I am enjoying Chinatown and Broadcast a lot more. They seem pretty well balanced for both sides.

Has anyone played killhouse through the playlists yet?

Nope. It says you can only play that on the Team Tactical or Cage Match playlists. Looks like no one else plays those either! I'm thinking it'll be on FFA next week when they add all the maps to normal rotation so I should be playing it quite a bit in future.

Love these new maps, even though i still suck!!

Like Broadcast, and Creek but on Creek never get the chance to go anywhere without being sniped!!! (annoys the hell out of me, when you watch replay of you being killed yet sniper shot looked like it missed by a mile!!!).

To help me improve! what are the best perks to use? I tend to use the M4 carbine as my main gun

Yeah I do seem to have a knack for killing myself off a cliff in creek. The only reason you can tell was because you got stuck in the first glitch found there!!



Where was it said these are going into rotation with the old maps? I know you're not the only one to say it so I'm curious where it was said?

It also tells you this on cod4, highlight one of the variety playlists and in the 2nd column it says "New maps will be playable in all playlists next week!"

I think people confuse "playlists" as map rotations.

Playlists (which the new maps will be added to after the weekend) are Game Modes I believe. Which means that you will be able to play just HQ on the new maps, or just Domination on them, etc rather than a mix up of all game modes and only on some maps. I would imagine that you can select HQ and play all four maps on a rotation, or choose Free for All and play all 4 maps on rotation on that game mode.

If they do add them to old map rotations they are going to have a logistical nightmare of working out who can play and who cant because of who owns the maps and who doesnt and i would hate to build up a party of players for Ground War and see half of them kicked out the party when we play Broadcast because half havent got the map.... and those that do get kicked feel peed off they cant get any long party matches anymore without getting kicked out.

It will have to be seperate playlists for the newer maps and the old ones. The only way they could do it to be fair to everyone otherwise if the new maps are added to the ones allready in and you can't play them for either not having them or them being disabled when others in the lobby have them would be totally unfair.

Can you imagine trying to get 18 people in a ground war that have all the maps? All you need is just 1 person to not have them and it disables it for everyone. You would end up never seeing the new maps at that rate. They would have to keep them seperate like they are now but add all the game modes to all the maps (which is the playlist bit) which would mean a Hardcore S&D match on Killhouse would be fun!!!

Ye it will have to be seperate playlists if it's not and probs like have been mentioned occure i will be peeved.

I think COD can see who has maps etc and so can pair you into parties with people who have got the maps, of course it might just kick out the people who haven't got the maps ala COD 3, which to be honest doesnt bother me cos i got the maps and i dont really care who i play with.

Finally got round to trying out the new maps this afternoon.


Had a few games on Creek (different objective games, all on Creek... think people kept voting to skip other maps), which seemed pretty good.

Then it moved to Chinatown... and major connection problems set in... all got dumped back to the lobby, a new host was found, & then... bam, disconnected again.

After then failing to find another game, I gave up & went back to Mass Effect.


And my headset seems to have died completely

Still, guess it's an excuse to get the wireless one at some point...

There are quite a lot of people that have the new maps already. The variety lists had more people in them than their equivalents in the original map lists.

If they're going to have seperate lists, which I can understand, they need to include the old maps in the list as well. Playing 3 maps over & over gets a little tedious. Especially when you only enjoy 2 of them.

When I added Adderz to the DS party on Saturday night i got a warning in red text saying that he didn't have the map pack.

The "Operations" mode for the Variety Map Pack is brilliant and needs to be added to the normal multiplayer map mode. It was great to have Deathmatch, HQ, Domination, Sabotage and S&D all turn up.

He probably hasnt succeeded in mithering the life out of his mum to buy them for him yet.

He's got them now so he must have 'borrowed' her credit card.

Good game last night...... ok we got hammered most rounds but hey.... it was fun and we had some american wanting to be a part of our clan.

Not sure what happened at the end tho. First foxzface couldnt connect, monkey had a transmission error and then Voodoo was "kicked" it said. Knowles left for the night and me and Jedi were stuck with loudmouth americans with no idea what they were talking about .... "Go on Reaper, B is clear, plant it at B for f###s sake.... I am covering it, i can see it is clear so f#####ing plant it!" and when I sneak over to B like he said there were 2 people actually at B and one sniping from a window over B so i didnt stand a chance!!!

Anyway, Good game still, hope to have another one soon

I got kicked off & couldn't get back online. I think I was the last one left so I'm sure that gave the other team a good laugh as it must have looked like I was running scared.

My wireless bridge has been playing up recently. I think it knows I'm moving in a few weeks so will have no need for it. I have a spare ethernet cable so I'll trail it up the stairs when I get home. The risk of someone falling down the stairs is worth it to be able to play COD4.

I ran out of battery power so I ran off to the kitchen find more - I must have been kicked for not joining the game quickly enough. Sorry about that. I tried joining you later but you all must have called it a night. Ended up in a couple of games with whiney american kids who just kept teamkilling each other for laughs. Went to bed. The End.

Yeah they didn't have a flaming clue,just started to kill effectively again since reranking to 2nd Prestige now at 15 with 21xp needed for 16,so i will be back to normal soon,,

Yeah, still dont know what the problem was last night, Could only start playing after casualty1907, so arrived a bit late. and only had 1 or 2 games. (sorry for running aimlessly with the bomb, but I didnt have a clue where I was going, I think it was my second time on the new map.)
Kept receiving invites from Reaper and Jedi but, kept getting the "lobby closed" message.
Oh well, onwards and upwards,

Its going to be a bit of a shock on COD4 tonight - I rather enjoyed getting double XP when I was playing over the weekend

Going from Level 1 to 28 on Prestige 3 was amazing - I think I leveled up 2 to 3 times on some of the Hardcore games I played

Back to the usual grind now...

HQ here I come

Yeah, I went from 10 to 35.

I usually go through the marksman challenges for each gun so I level up faster but despite playing for at least 6-7 hours over the weekend I've only got the 1000 point challenge for the AK47 & MP5 whereas I'd usually have all the ACOGs for the assault rifles up to the M4 & for the SMGs up to the Uzi by now. .

It makes S&D a lot harder when you don't have any silencers for the guns you want to use, especially on the non Hardcore mode.
