No idea what that is but it sounds fun.
Maybe a bit artificial but will help those who have trouble hitting moving targets (I find this easier than hitting someone trying to snipe back as they always seem to see me just as I'm about to pull the trigger ).A few nights ago we played with a guy called Jamie something and he found a great sniping spot on Chinatown. I'll have to try that one. The buildings outside on Broadcast can be good for sniping but only if the enemy decide to venture away from the targets & move into the lobby/roof so it's not always worth having one there. |

Well the variety map pack modes and double XP finally bit the dust at 8pm last night (12 noon on the west coast of the US I'm guessing) - shame as I was enjoying progressing through the ranks a darn sight quicker than I usually do
![]() Hopefully an "Objective" mode will resurface again though as I really liked having S&D, Sabotage, HQ and Domination all available in one place on a random rotation. Now if I can just practice my sniping a bit more , I'll stop dreading Creek coming up. I don't care what IW may claim, that tunnel through the hill doesn't really make it possible to get round behind the team at the top of the map. |

I have thought up a great game mode/training exercise to allow us all to go on a private match and practice. It would help Sniping or LMG or any other weapon practice and would also help make each side work harder as a team to cover each others backs.
Basically its a form of VIP match but more organised and reduces camping. Start a Private Match and select any map Select Sabotage as the game mode Select Round Time as 15 mins. Two teams, 1 Bomb package...... Both teams have to grab the bomb and hold on to it. Whoever grabs the bomb is technically the VIP and has to survive as long as possible and his team mates have to work as a team to defend that person. The other team then have to kill the bomb carrier/VIP and collect the bomb package thus allowing one of their team to then become VIP and roles reverse. Winning team is the one who owns the package at the end of the game, so no matter which team your on there will be constant playing and fighting to the last second of the round to try and be the VIP/package holder at the end of the game. -Remember, you dont plant the bomb, ignore the targets but instead just hold on to the bomb for as long as possible. -It stops a lot of camping/hiding of the VIP because of the KILL sign over his head so it encourages bodyguard protection and clever movement by the VIP team. It also keeps the game running all the time rather than a Hide n Seek match. -It allows the use of sniper rifles only if you want to practice sniping, by allowing a mix of camping and non-camping. If your defending your VIP then you can camp in a good position, but the other team obviously wont camp because they need to kill the VIP and get the package quickly, and obviously know where the VIP is so even the defensive campers/snipers wouldnt be able to hold their position for long before the VIP is dead and the other team have the package and roles reverse. -A good team working together would be calling out enemy positions, working together to say where they will move the VIP to next when the enemy comes knocking on their position, will work with a mix of Snipers camped in defence positions, while other team members have other weapons/perks acting as bodyguards covering the VIP and each others backs. It also gives strategies a chance such as one team nominating a player to be the package capture person for most captures because that person has Juggernaut or an LMG to protect him/herself or maybe has Extreme Conditioning to be able to sprint further with the package. All these strategies can be decided on as a team and tinkered with until they are winning all the time with a great team setup. So basically its Sabotage but without planting the bomb, instead just using the bomb carrier as a VIP and making it more fun for both teams to practice cos they can see where the VIP is and under pressure from the time limit to be the team with the VIP/package at the end of the round. I just think that this would give us so many different opportunities to work as a team on both sides of the teams. Would let people practice with different weapons and team plans on each map, keep the action fun and flowing all the time (with the KILL sign over the VIP helping to keep the camping/searching for hidden players down to a minimum) and would be really simple way of playing without inventing too many rules we all forget after 5 mins. |

The cave on Creek is pretty useless for ytying to get behind the enemy. I think the best way is to go over the cave & then try and creep round the outside as most snipers will be over by A. It's tough to snipe on the maps as there are no 'safe' spots. It may be better to go with a G3/M14 with an ACOG scope. |

There used to be an Objective mode but there were rarely more than 1000 in it so it was removed.

Creek S&D is simple, I just run at the waterfall, up the side of the hill and round the back of them. If you have Extreme Conditioning on it works even better and they never expect it. Or you could just plant it at A if you want but i prefered to take out the enemy from behind first. I did that on 3 rounds last night and every round i was able to get to their spawn point and kill at least 2 or 3 per round from it. |

Anyone care to explain how they are doing the rotation.
I have not been on since Tuesday, gutted that I only just read that the Double XP continued until yesterday, I assumed it finished on Sunday night! |

The maps are in the rotation with the others but everyone in the lobby needs to have the mappacks otherwise if just one person doesn't have them then only the older maps appear in the rotation.

Cheers for that, does it say who in the lobby doesn't have the maps?
Can see it causing arguments if it did. |

Dave doesn't have the new maps at the moment, yet when he joined my game randomly (I was playing with two others and he ended up on the other team) the game ended and we all went back to the lobby to get the next map. The Creek map came up. Unfortunately, I backed out to invite him into the team, before seeing what actually happens to him and he did the same.
So doesn't seem to match you with only people that have the new maps. Would've been interesting to see what happened to him when the game began. Will have to get him to join randomly again |

Had a bit of a mare logging in last night, when I finally did I enjoyed a couple of games with reaper and Minnimo, till my headset went t*ts up.
(sorry Minni) turned out to be the controller, so I changed it for another but by then everyone had gone and done their own thing. Should imagine I'll be on again tonight, albeit under the influence |

Now minni and the rest can vouch for how much time i play this game,BUT for some strange reason this last week since i reranked to 2nd prestige i just cant focus as well on it as i did a week ago(i don't know if its because of the shitty guns and no perks,or whether the new maps ESPECIALLY creek have thrown me out of kilter)all i do know is that i cant wait to get my perks back up to normal, and may not re prestige for a while this time.
I had left it for the last few nights(a bit of COD4 Fatigue),but Normal service will be resumed tonight,so count me in tonight.

I'm away on holiday for a week from Monday so don't think I'm ignoring you lot and don't delete me from your friends list Mo.
After that I'll be getting ready for GTA IV multiplayer. Looking forward to multiplayer Cops and Crooks or just cruising around, four in a car, shooting up Liberty City. Might be on COD4 before I go. |

Does anyone know if Killhouse is supposed to come up randomly on Domination?
I haven't had it so far, but it's bigger than Shipment so I'd have thought it was one of the potential maps. Of all the new maps I think Chinatown seems to come up an awful lot. Creek has probably been the next popular, and then Broadcast, but still no sign of Killhouse. |

Microsoft launch Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Live Fire Weekend 2008 Offensive on Xbox Live
Anyone else seen this? A special COD4 weekend is being planned for the weekend of 18 April, with prizes and a chance to play against the developers More info here: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/865/865719p1.html Not sure whether it will be open to us poor Brits/Europeans though, the link printed in the article didn't work when I tried to paste it into my address box. |
