Don't forget we'll also get a brief reprise from them in the final, although that does seem a long way away right now (not that I want to wish the series away...).

It does seem to be a sweet farewell SCD_O and thank you so much for finding it

I'm one of the folk that has been negative re SB's attitude and it's not rooted in age-gap difficulties. I'm almost her age () and I totally 'get' her dry humour and irreverent approach to things - I applaud it most of the time as a very refreshing change to the usual tedium and sycophancy.

HOWEVER, and it may well be down to unfortunate editing, much of what we saw portrayed SB as totally calling the shots and rather demeaning Vincent. I'm sure that wasn't her actual intention, but its certainly how it came across at times.

The final gush of how simply AWFUL the whole thing had been was rather inconsiderate to Vincent and I would have thought, as the lady she obviously is, she'd have been more circumspect and thoughtful. Of COURSE I know why she did it - to amuse in a wry and witty way , but she really should have been more considerate.

Anyhoo, I'm sure she'll be LOVELY on ITT tonight I know for certain that Vincent will be

And thanks again SCD-O cos you are absolutely WONDERFUL and a lynchpin of this forum

SCD-O -- Thanks for starting this thread. I popped into the Vincent thread and was taken aback by the bashing Stephanie was getting.

I posted there and will post her too, Stephanie started to say something about Vincent when that moron known as Brucie cut her off to make some stupid comment. I thought she was really classy in her exit and if people had really looked at her under the spotlight she was quite terrified looking and she showed everybody how to exit gracefully. I thought the way Vincent and her hugged at their final dance was so sweet -- I was tearing up. They will certainly be missed as a couple.

Thank you for that - I switched off, cross, before I saw that. Such lovely people, both of them. In a way you can tell so much about the pros by how they handle having a celeb who isn't going to win, and Vincent has been a true love. I'm having one of my 'why can't they all stay in?' moments now. Sigh.

Jt--- You're welcome. I thought they were a great team and although I'm an Ian fan I do have a soft spot for Vincent (and Flavia) and was truly sorry to see him and Stephanie go out. Wish he and Stephanie could replace Bruce and Tess as hosts --that would certainly put a smile on people's faces.

I didn't care much for Vincent last year - but this time I thought his partnership with Stephanie was a true bonding, despite (or perhaps because of) the age difference.

When they took to the floor for their last dance he really held her close and kissed her shoulder - and I think it was more than the latin lover coming out.

I'll miss them.

I remembered in last year's SCD I was actually quite angry at Vincent monkeying around with Louisa in their James Bond group dance which riled Nicole up a little.

I thought how inconsiderate of him! Yes, Louisa's a quick learner but Vincent shouldn't distract others when they are trying to get their steps right!

Then I saw how he was protective towards Louisa and towards the end it was heart-wrenching when they wore that white outfit and danced their last dance together. When they did the farewell dance, when he put Louisa down, I thought I saw Vincent standing alone looking absolutely crestfallen. He might even be crying, I don't know.

Then it was his (and Flavia's) self-less guidance to the remaining couples in their Argentine Tango. Then I thought: this Vincent guy is actually not a monkey that the producers made him out to be and started to warm to him (and Flavia) a lot. Of course, his red button commentary further confirmed that he's a consummate professional and was heaping high praise to most of the dance routine of the night without being too gushing.

He was just very self-deprecating and likes to make fun of himself in front of his celeb partners.

I think Stephanie saw that and 'played' with him a little that way. I do think she thought some of Vincent's c'mon jokes were a little cheesy (like the telephone number thingie he tried on Louisa with more success), but I don't think Steph was really mean to him.

She probably sees him like her bouncy, playful son. So it was more like a mother-son thing between them, which, I thought was sweet to watch.

That's why I am STILL devastated that they're gone!

I was a little surprised and disappointed by Stephanies comments on being voted out but then I wondered if it was her way of covering up a bit for the embarassment of being voted out. You know how a lot of people use humour to cover up embarassing moments?

I also wondered whether all her protesting about "not doing latin" before the show actually started was her way of preparing herself for being voted out at some stage.

Hopefully she will be a bit more gracious on ITT tonight

I don't think she said she didn't want to do latin, but she found the shimmy-ing around in the group dance in front of those young and much better female dancers really awful for her age.

Or am I missing something here, again?

Oh don't you are going to set me off

That was such a touching moment and it just shows what an absolute gorgeous person Vincent is

I was so hoping we would have got to see more of Vincent competing this series but no

I am sorry...

At least this weekend's red button commentary will be Vincent again! Yay!

Remembered when Phillip Jackson introduced Vincent as the le passione, he said, in his quirky Italian accent, "Goode even-ing!"

Sorry I didn't mean it as a direct quote, I think she said something about wanting to learn ballroom but wasn't keen on doing latin and a lot of people called her for it.

I suppose it would be daughnting for her with all the "leggies" in there with her I bet she would have given it a good go though.

After seeing her doing that quickstep LIKE THAT, I thought wow she might be good with the jive too! Esp. since Vincent's a good choreographer and his jive with Louisa last year rocks!

But being a professional she is, I am sure she'll do some of the latin dances well. Not sure, however, if I want to see her rooomba with Vincent...

edit to add: why is it the title spelling remained wrong when I edited to change it???

I remember Gloria Hunniford saying how awkward she felt doing the more seductive dances with someone young enough to be her son, but I'm sure that Vincent wouldn't have been the first younger man that Stephanie had "roomba'd" with

You're right though, I bet should would be better at the latin than a lot of people thought.

I guess it's a case of hearing and seeing what you want to see. I have to say, I am really taken aback by some of the comments that people, Vincent fans apparently, are making about Stephanie. I've popped into the Vincent thread again and this one and the bashing of Stephanie continues.

So many people have posted on DS before Saturday night, myself included, saying how much they liked Stephanie and Vincent's partnership. She brought a much needed sense of humour to the show and Vincent was the perfect partner for her. She exited like a true professional, chin up and be gracious --- and as I said before, she did start to thank Vincent before Bruce cut in.

I really feel sad for some people that they feel the need to bash her in some sort of misguided defence of Vincent. It's not necessary and I'm sure on ITT that will come across.

I think some of the things some people have said about Stephanie was just an immediate reaction to what Stephanie said when she was voted off.

But I think a lot of us know that, this is just he way Stephanie is, its her humour and I do think she actually probably was a bit upset to be going

stephanie is soooo sweet, she just comes across as a really nice friendly lady. I'm sorry she's out. Vincent too is such a nice man. This is the downer about the show when people start getting voted off.

Stephanie bashers are starting to pee me off.Seriously.
I have been a fan of hers for YEARS,and I can tell you that the way she was with Vincent(you know, when she was being so meanand bitchy and not treating him with respect ) was just how she is,she's very witty and very funny and I for one found it hilarious.
I know Vincent fans are going to read this and I really don't mean to offend you,but it drives me nuts when people slag Stephanie off for no reason.
I actually am not a fan of Vincent at all,but do you see me slagging him off and going on about how arrogant he is to expect Stephanie to fall at his feet? No,you don't,because I know a lot of people on here love him and I respect that.
It's not Stephanie's fault Vincent has gone, any more than it's his fault she's gone. It's the way the vote went.
I'm incredibly disappointed that I won't get to see Stephanie on TV every night as herself any more, but I know it's got nothing to do with Vincent,he wasn't the cause, so I don't see logic in slagging Stephanie off for something she had no control over.

I think (oh god what I am doing) that I am going to have to agree with WelshieRachel on most of her points apart from of course I am a crazy in love with Vincent fan.

I think Steph was brilliant and I hope that when I am older I am even 1% like her (I am 25 btw). I didn't actually know who she was until she was partnered with Vincent, I didn't even watch Bad Girls, but it was sort of obvious to me from more or less the beginning that it had been edited in a certain way to make her look a bit cold and mean (although I know she herself says she is an absolute diva), she is lovely lovely lovely, very dry, very funny and very warm in my opinion actually.

I don't actually think Vincent is as cock-sure and arrogant as some people think (one of my friends called him slimey the other day ), its just his sense of humour and he takes the mickey out of himself. I have actually picked up from his personality that is probably quite shy and unsure and he uses the Italian Stalion thing sometimes to protect himself. Don't forget this isn't the country he was raised in and he probably had a difficult time at first communicating in English and understanding the English humour fully, and possibly he still does have problems with it. I think you can see that when he is with Flavia he fades into the background and lets her take the lead (apart from of course when he is dancing with her).

Sorry to go on and on and on, I haven't posted for a while.

Oh and Vincent darling you can cook for me anytime......

It's my fault they went. Whomever I vote for, goes. I am the kiss of death

FWIW, I didn't really notice Vincent last year. But this year, his partnership with Stephanie has been very entertaining. They seem to have really bonded. I have seen Vincent in a new light and Stephanie has always been fantastic.

Here I go again........

I think in the Vincent fans, who are a bit miffed at Stephanies, defence , we like alot of others have been waiting all year for our fav professional whoever they might be to return to our screens and we are just mega mega mega disappointed that he only got to have one proper competition dance and maybe (or then again maybe not in some peoples cases) we are directing our anger and disappointment in the wrong direction i.e. at Stephanie. I think out of all the lady celebs she is the one who is the most genuine and whether people like that or not is of course up to them.

I think you can read Vincent's face and body language like a book and if he didn't like her and get on with her he certainly wouldn't be holding her hand all the time, saying he was in love with her and kissing her shoulders etc. Stephanie looked really upset for Vincent when they had their farewell dance and when they got their scores on Saturday she held his hand and said "I am sorry", she looked genuinely disappointed for him. BTW, how cute was it when they were hugging all the way through Letita and Darren's part of the dance-off in the background.

God I am sooo sorry everyone I am just going on and on and on again ...

Don't worry Cheekychacha, I feel like going on and on like it would actually help ...

I was never really upset with Stephanie, and after tonight how could you be ... They were so sweet together... Such a sad goodbye ...
