I have a pay and go sony k610i. Is it possible to connect it to my laptop for broadband on the move?

If so, how much would it be?

You should be able to.

It's £12.50/month or £22.50 a month.

Nope, can't.

Not on Pay as You Go.

PAYG Web 'n' Walk costs 0.73p/KB, capped at £1/day. Max usage of 40MB/day. Modem access for a computer is not permitted.

The proper WnW plans are only available with Flext (& UFix?).

To add to what's been previously said.

It probably is possible. if your laptop has bluetooth or you have a USB cable, then it should be possible with the relevant software. It may be that TMobile monitor packets to see whether they have the characteristics of PC traffic (is that possible - do mobile packets have different characteristics), but I would think that you would be able to connect. However, if TMobile found that you'd been using their service like that, they may cut you off.

Is that the actual Web 'n' Walk add on though?

The T-Mobile website says that with PAYG, the only "Web 'n' Walk" is simply the 0.73p/KB internet access, with a £1/day cap. And it clearly says using the phone as a modem for a computer is prohibited.

There is rumours on the web that tmobile are bringing out a pay as you go web and walk package soon (November i think) however i did hear it was something like £4 per day. i think they will release a payg modem as well.

Only problem with web and walk is that everything is blocked.

MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger etc etc

Even on the web and walk max package.

No. That's hardly everything.

You can download the E-Messenger versions of MSN and Yahoo from http://wap.e-messenger.net on your phone. This works perfectly on T-Mobile, even if you don't have Web N Walk.

Web N Walk is the best thing to hit the UK mobile market in a long time

No it isn't.... this has been talked about before.... I've posted pics of my handset connected via t-mob and connected to MSN.... you simply have to ensure your connection is setup correctly.

The talk before was inconclusive.

For some its blocked and others its not. Its not worth taking the risk of a 12 month contract for something that might or might not be blocked.

It's still blocked on my account and i have the web and walk max package.

It's not blocked, period.... you simply need to setup your phone/laptop/pda correctly.... tmobile can do this over the phone....

IT IS BLOCKED ON MY ACCOUNT AND MANY OTHERS

I spent an hour on the phone to them, the best they could do is come up with a lie about upgrading to hotmail live plus

IT'S NOT BLOCKED!

I frequently use MSN on my (how ironic) N73 and also my laptop. Windows Live Messenger works a treat, plus Windows Live also integrates itself with the symbian os on the N73.

Oh and I am just using the basic Web 'N' Walk package. All traffic that is sent from a mobile web browser is virtually the same as that of a standard browser on a laptop or desktop.

I have not known T-Mobile to block ports for msn and the like......although VoIP is another issue.

Tmobile do not have any facilities to block msn on your account if you've got the top package, that is a FACT. I'm afraid the problem is in your set-up.

If they can block it for the basic package then they can block it for w&w max.

Messenger worked a treat for me untill they BLOCKED it in july.

It is BLOCKED for me, it is BLOCKED on other accounts who this also happened to in july.

I know this is BLOCKED because tried a sim from another network, and hey presto, it worked.

Some t-mobile accounts have MSN messenger BLOCKED, That is a fact !!!

You guys keep claiming that its a problem with my setup yet you are never able to provide me with instructions for how to get MSN working on w&w.

Are you t-mobile employees by any chance? do you have shairs in t-mobile?

I work in a management role at T-Mobile Retail, and what you're saying is rubbish.

We do not block MSN on any subscriptions. Full stop. End of story. There is no account option that simply blocks MSN Messenger ports. Its too ambigious.

I suggest you check your set up, like somebody has already mentioned. If you're unhappy with any aspect of your service, or any response received from Customer Services, then I suggest you contact the executive office.

I have the basic Web'n'Walk package (not Plus or Max) on my Relax contract, and MSN works absolutely fine - both on my phone (Windows Mobile) and laptop.

I have the standard WNW package and that won't allow me to sign into MSN Messenger via my laptop, the phone client works fine though.

The retail department might not block it, but another department certainly does.

Very quick to critisize my setup, yet no one can provide me with instructions for getting it working.

I have reflashed the phone firmware to restore all the default settings,

I have installed the phone software multiple computers all give exactly the same error message.
