That maybe your problem, you may have that networks settings under your phone and not tmobiles. Otherwise it wouldn't have worked. Each network has their own settings for data, none of them have the same.

err, maybe thats not the problem. Because if it was i wouldent be able to access the internet at all.

maybe the problem is that it is actually blocked as somone else in this thread has also experianced.

Maybe somone (t-mobile trolls ???) who claims it is not blocked can provide me with the settings to get it working

I have an N70 dont be mislead by me screen name :P

Yes.

Not being funny, but how would i be able to connect to the intenet on my laptop without it?

If you dont use the nokia software and go for a traditional dial up connection you just get errors.

The nokia connection software has a wizard to configure the software for the operator of which there is a t-mobile uk option

You only get errors if you don't set it up correctly....

Once connected via the nokia software are you able to surf the web in your internet browser, ensure this by surfing a dynamic webpage rather than a static webpage.

I don't get errors because it is set up properly.

What do you mean by static and dynamic? Do you mean am i viewing cached pages?

Its 100% defintley connected.

Ping works fine.

When connected I use "ping -t bbc.co.uk" to monitor the quality of the connection.

It does sound like the IM ports are being blocked. I can't work out how to distinguish between a problem with your firewall and a problem with T-Mobile.

Have you tested connecting through webmessenger?

http://webmessenger.msn.com

If so can you connect to MSN through it?

FWIW it works fine on my Laptop (Vista) and Mobile (both K810i and K800i) on two different PAYT SIMS (annoyingly my K800i won't work as a 3G modem for my router as backup ) and my Flext phone on the basic Web'n'Walk package (although I only use the latter for accessing my ISP status pages as I don't want to run the risk of disconnection).

I also know it works find with a (Vario II) phone on business one with Web'n'Walk Max although it's a right swine to get working.

If the PAYG broadband really is £4 a day I can't see the service working on PAYG SIM's for much longer with a £1 daily cap

Then it isn't the connection, it's something on your pc...

Load a command prompt and type "netstat" and hit enter you will see it connects to the same servers... try checking your connection settings in your actual MSN client.

On a clean install of windows ???

All this does is list the open connections.

Trouble shooter says "your machne appears to have an invalid address" with a warning symbol pictured between the internet and the modem, not between the modem and the pc.

Connection settings are all default.

Funnily enough i have no problems with msn when it is configured to use a tunnel

Yes and you will see the connection made via webmessenger and MSN is the same, therefore if you can connect through one you can connect through another....

Other than that I can't suggest anything else, you can clearly connect and surf the net as well... if you don't like webmessenger how about meebo? I use that rather than the actual MSN client....

Seems blocked to me - I'm online now with handset connected to PC and MSN moans if I try to connect.

If I now go back to the wifi connection (presses button) then yes, MSN is back.

Therefore ports blocked, nothing to do with the PC config.

Well i cannot connect with the official client on t-mobile.

Web messenger and the client may use the same ports to send messages but their connection is not initiated the same way.

When are you going to concede that it is blocked? At least for some people anyway (e.g. those who dont work for/ have shairs in t-mobile)

It’s blocked on my 2 t-mobile Sims, others on this forum have experienced difficulties and a search on Google will also give you posts regarding the same complaint.

Firstly, in response to the whole "management don't have a clue" statement - I pride myself in knowing my job and the company extremely well. Having worked for the company for almost four years now, I know Web N Walk VERY well and without sounding arrogant, I doubt you could find anybody who knows the service better than the management / technical support members of staff at T-Mobile.

I will not repeat myself again after this, so read carefully: MSN is NOT blocked for ANYBODY. There is NO facility just to enable it for "shareholders" only. NOT POSSIBLE.

This has been confirmed by our data support team.

I believe you should now go through the steps of contacting the senior customer service team. Do this by asking the operator when phoning your usual customer service number (e.g. 150). However, if you have no success I am more than happy to give you a direct dial phone number to the data support team - PM me and I will give this to you.

It might not be actively blocked

However it is impossible to connect to msn with the official xp/vista client. I have tried all combinations of phones and sims, clean installs of windows and factory reset phones and phoning up tech support

Therefore it is blocked by default

RE Phone pictures : im not disputing the fact that you can connect with your phone client. There is no official msn client for my phone(n70) so i will have to take your word for it.

It certainly is, as the following screenshot shows the official Microsoft Live Messenger client working, on Windows Vista Business, connected to a Sony Ericsson K800i with a T-Mobile PAYT SIM card.

Hmm, why take a photo of a screenshot that you have modified?

If you would be kind enough, could you please post your ipconfig stats.
