LG Plasma showing Sparklies

Hi,

A friend of mine has a problem with sparklies on his LG plasma TV. They appear on all inputs, even an unused one. If no signal is received the black parts of the screen eventually settle down but the floating "No Signal" box causes a outbreak of sparklies when it moves somewhere else on the screen - you are left with a lighter sparkling rectangle where it was.

We tried removing all inputs and changed the power lead to a different socket but it's still there. He's under warranty fortunately but I was just wondering what could cause them.

TIA

This is a common fault on the LG's you will need to get a service engineer out to take a look and either replace or repair.

THe exact same thing has happened to my 50" LG 50PX4D.

Black sparklies that come on when the TV is black and then slowly dissapear when it is on. THen when TV is black again. these sparklies are a big problem.

This happened when using a PS3 via HDMI.

What can I do. This TV is 16 months old and out of warranty!

Please help!
