I don't know how useful this will be but I thought it might be good to have a thread where people could ask anyone who had been to see the live shows any questions about what they saw and get them answered as I'm sure there are several people who have been or are going to see the shows. (wow that was a long sentence my english is terrible)

eg. Was the guys group dance just a repeat?
No they did actually dance it twice that badly!!

I think there was a similar thread somewhere, but hey, no harm for starting this one.

Read in another thread about your SCD 'live' experience.

Tell us, from watching it live, how were the female celebs doing? Were the scores fair in your opinion? I know you gave us some comments in another thread, but a short comment on ALL the dance would be nice.

Also, how was the pro dance, esp. the Chicago tango/jive? Did James really looked like he fumbled in his second lift when he's doing the Rhumba with Ola?

Were the Westlife singing live or lip-syn-ing???

All the sordid details, thanks.

In real life, which celebrity couples oooozzzzed personality on the dance floor?

Who would you have ranked highest Rumba and highest QS?

OK I'll try and give some of the sordid details but I have an annoyingly short memory and pretty much all I'm left with is "wow it was sparkly".

Stephanie and Vincent- I though they did very well and was very suprised by what I saw. Didn't expect her to be as good as she was. Vincent is also shorter than I imagined. I thought the scores were alright, possibly bordering on a little low.

Letitia and Darren- I wasn't too keen on them but all I was really looking at was how unflattering her dress was. Tried hard though. Craig's 4 too harsh, Len's 7 too generous.

Gabby and James- Very nice dance. Probably the one I found most fun to watch. I think the rest of the audience really liked them too. Didn't come across as badly as people seem to have found but then I couldn't really hear the backstage interviews very well so missed a lot of that stuff. Scores fairish maybe could have done with another 8 or two.

Alesha and Matt- Brilliant. Great chemistry. Looked a very nice partnership with lots of potential. Thought they should have got 8s across the board.

Kelly and Brendan- Very good but I found them a bit posy. A bit too "look at us, this is sex on the dance floor". Kelly as gorgeous as you imagine. No better IMHO than Matt and Alesha so should have got the same scores.

Penny and Ian- Very tall! Very elegant. I liked their dance but I don't think it was hugely memorable. Fair scores.

Kate and Anton- Oh dear. All I could think was that it was like watching car crash tv. There were good elements to it though. Arlene's premium bonds comment seemed quite funny at the time but looking back wasn't as funny as I thought. Unfortunately the scores were probably pretty fair.

Best rumba- Matt and Alesha
Best QS- Penny and Ian with James and Gabby close second

The pro group dance was spectacular though the wigs were hugely distracting. I kept on expecting them to bounce off so I ended up watching them more than the dancing which is a shame. The dresses were gorgeous especially Erins. Matt and Nicole's jive part was so good. A real treat.

The Westlife song was actually recorded before the live show so when you see Bruce linking to it he's actually pointing to an empty floor. They were better looking in real life and although I don't really like them they were pretty good. I think they might have been live because I thought I heard one or two slightly iffy notes but then I'm not that musically talented so couldn't really tell.

James and Ola were just stunning together. I have never seen someone wear so little material! He did have a bit of a fumble on the second lift but it didn't look like anything major, just trying to get hold of her legs so he could lift her above his head.

I know what you mean about the wigs!!! I wasn't watching the dance because I was thinking 'they aren't gonna hold girls!!' haha

I was trying to work out who was who - the lighting made it difficult to decide which fella it was so I could work out who the girl was - and it was so FAST!!!

I 'tuned' Westlife out as I cannot stand the fact that they always bl**dy lip synch. Now I wish I had paid attention to them because singing 'live' now that would have been something to see.

Thanks Hannah (sorry, forgot the correct spelling of your name) for the update. You are one lucky girl.

I thought Erin's wig seemed in the most danger of making an early exit.

Thanks for the sordid details!

James and Ola's rhumba looked a little like last year's effort when they rhumba-ed to Meatloaf song. In any case the first lift was the same. Must be very impressive.

The second lift I was surprised that James even fumbled, because Mark did the same lift last year and he looked fine. Maybe Mark's just lucky.

*ducks from Mark's fans*

Yeah, when Anton threw her around and she jerked so violently, Claudia's words came to mind: My head almost fell off!

I have to watch it again to see the dance properly. The black hair was indeed distracting, but fun to watch at the same time...

I just kinda figured the ladies will dance with their respective male pros when I first watched them dance. But during their tango sequence, when the male pros switch partners, I was like: huh?

It does get confusing when they swap I agree! but lucky they were all in different colours - imagine if they had all been in black - would we have had a clue??

I take it the Sat show is filmed live, but I doubt the 45min Sunday show is filmed live. I mean if something is not quite right in the Sun show is it re shot?
olivej

you are correct yes the sat show is live then when it goes off air they film the sunday show

I think with the boy's group dance, they can do umpteenth reshoots and it'll still turn out bad...

They should simply SHOOT the choreographer(s) instead...

The sunday show is obviously shot on the saturday night. Westlife were filmed before the main show and some of the links were filmed before the results came in. The results part was filmed at about 9.30 after the results had been counted. They could reshoot things but didn't have to for anything this week.

Agree re Erin's wig, I kept imagining it flying off and landing on Bruce's head.

Did you see much interaaction between all the pros and celebs.
The male celebs seem quite close wheras a lot of the females appear quite competitive, Did you get that vibe there or did they all seem like they got on well?

Strange, I kept thinking it will fly off and landed on Billy Zane's head!

It looked like they all got on well to me. They were all congratulating Kate for having got through when they walked off.
