Living Room Cabling and New Surround System Recommendation

Hi guys

I'm getting new carpets for the living room in a week or so. Can the gripper rod be taken up and pushed back a little from the wall so that my cables can run through the gap?

I need to run 2 aerial cables, Virgin Media TV and phone cable, and probably 2 speaker cables around the room to make my setup work.

Also, can someone suggest a new surround sound system to me? I'm looking for one under £130 with some decent features and decent sound quality. I also quite like the idea of hiding the subwoofer behind the sofa (my mum and dad HATE wires showing anywhere!)

Thanks guys

I would not move the griper further from the wall as when the carpet is laid the distance would be too great for the edge to be held down. Run the cables under the floor as they will not get damaged by anything there. Its harder but better for that amount of cable.
