Hiya just been listening to radio at work and it was announced there is some contraversay about stephanie and vincents quickstep, citing it was identical to Jennie garths on DWTS the week before!! I didnt click but to be honest it looks v similar!

It seems both Jennie and Stephanie danced to Suddenly I See, and both performed a quickstep. That is where the similarity ends. Watch them on YouTube and you'll see that they are not the same at all.
It's a non-story.
And if I were Vincent, I would be outraged at the very suggestion of plagerism.

I have just posted on the Vincent forum - and have tried to be objective.
By Stephanie's own admission she was not very good, so Vincent would have made the quickstep a basic one so that she could achieve it AND look good.
If JGs situation was similar - then hers would be basic too - I haven't seen it so don't know.............
but if so, a quickstep is a quickstep and would, if basic, obviously be similar.
I DO feel for poor Vincent - I would be so upset and outraged if I was accused of copying!

Nah I can't see any resemblence besides the song, which was played at a faster speed for Jennie's QS

Within any dance there are a finite number of steps and a limit to the possible permuatation of puitting those steps together ~ along the lines of there only being seven plotlines in the world, etc.
So surely, out of all of the billions of quicksteps (or any other dance for that matter) that have ever been choreographed sooner or later some will have apparent similarities. Law of averages.
And if it's simply the case of it being the use of the same song then Karen wants to get on her high horse because *gasp* that was used for another VW on DWTS this week.

there are as you say BOUND to be similarities at some point when two different couples dance the same dance - as you say there are a finite number of steps!
I honestly think the news must have been poor today for them to have to drag this kind of junk out.

Ive no idea!! I just heard the story on the radio!! so it was the sun why am i not surprised.....
