I know rumours of a Christmas show have been circulating for ages, but my colleague has been able to confirm some details:

http://www.thestage.co.uk/news/newss...ead-and-fisher

Exclusive: Connie Fisher and Lee Mead will perform together for the first time this Christmas, as part of a BBC1 special that unites the finalists from Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?.

The 60-minute show, which has the working title Maria Meets Joseph, is expected to air on or around Christmas Day and has been described by the BBC as an “entertainment extravaganza”.

...and then I go and get the show's working title wrong in the thread title. Slapped wrist for me! But then, I always did prefer ADWD over Maria...

Well, yes, there have rumours been going round for ages about the show, and I've heard occasional snippets from one or two people involved. However, I thought it'd be nice to get something confirmed out there -- as well as the news about the duet, Denise and John singing with the boys and the girls respectively, etc.

Ooo, does that mean that some of the other Josephs are doing the show too?!

Heard it's the top 6 from each show and it's airing on Christmas Eve

And Scott, you won't be saying Craig's put weight on this time. Yes, I'm still smarting over your one and only comment about him in the ADWD Final show

He is super fit and polished to perfection now

I think its really unfair that only 6 of them have been asked to do the Christmas show there were 12 Joes not 6
That means ,Chris Barton, Seamus, Johndeep ,Rob, Anthony and Chris C dont get to go on the Christmas show . Thats terribe they must feel awfull .

I suppose its like the x factor tours where only the top 10 go on the tour leaving out those in 11th and 12th

I would imagine with 6 Marias and 6 Josephs there would be huge time constraints to have all 24 in the show.

If you are a fan of one of the others I can imagine how you feel - we won't get Ben either but just a VT

Thank you for sharing, Scott. I can't wait to see them all performing together again. It's refreshing to know that shows like these actually have good results as we'll be seeing what the candidates have been doing since their competitions ended. I know the ex-Josephs haven't been left out in the cold since they were stripped of their coats. A lot of them have gotten some amazing roles in different shows.

Hmmm, wonder which songs the Marias and Josephs will be doing with Barrowman and Van Houten. I would imagine perhaps some of the Marias singing the Cell Block Tango from "Chicago". That's a great number.

And of course, the LoveLEES will be wanting Paint it Black. I'd love to hear him in his Raoul-mode by singing "All I Ask of You" with Connie or any of the Marias. And either Keith or Craig should sing "This is the Moment".

They lost, why would we want to see the losers? There are a couple in there who I liked but at the end of the day they couoldn't even get into the top 6 so they really aren't important.

Thats a bit harsh , they won there place in the final 12 over 10,000 others so I wouldnt call any of them losers!
They ALL entertained us over the weeks and some have gone on to prove what fantastic performers they are, there was only 1 winner but I certainly wouldnt call all the others losers

Quite agree with sadie1 - I'd have loved to see Seamus again to find out if he finally got "the show of his own"!

But they may well show an update of what all the Josephs/Marias are doing, even if not all of them are present to sing/perform.

Can you imagine trying to squeeze 24 contestants into what is likely to be an hour long show - that's if indeed all of them were able to attend.

Was that the comment "that he had piled on weight since leaving the show?" He'd only been gone a fortnight!!!

Agree with you Trixie, he's perfect now

Not that I want to rake over hot coals, but it was only because he'd only been gone two weeks that it seemed noteworthy. Looking back over my ADWD reviews, some of the spelling errors and tortuous grammar make me wince, but I don't think any comment was unfair at the time it was made.

But eh, all water under the bridge now - he's certainly enjoying some fair degree of success now, along with the other finalists, and I look forward to meeting him and the other would-be Josephs as and when that happens.

Yes, I suppose you could say a sell-out nationwide Tour now extended by another 16 weeks is 'some fair' degree of success.

And, having met him, he's in awesome shape!
