Just thought I would point out that Ben did want to appear on the show, however on the day of filming JMM, he was in Livwerpool performing in the Royal Variety Performance and therefore couldn't be there to participate. He did film a short VT for the show (I spoke to him after seeing the show with some of the Angels) but for some reason it wasn't shown.

Yep, Lewis has really grown up ... didn't quite make up for Ben's absence, but was a start!

Thanks Mel ... 'tis a shame he couldn't be in two places at once, but I guess that's the way it is ... lets hope someone's working on a time travel machine!

There is an update of Phantom in the pipeline! That would be good for Lee and Connie.

Fantastic show, but I have to disagree about the duet.

Somehow it just didn't work for me.

i did feel a bit story for the builder guy. all the others had west end parts or touring parts in big productions and he was in panto and judging by the poster he didnt even have star billing.

Anyone who has seen Daniel perform live will know that he is a superb actor - I'm wondering if people are saying that he can't "emote" purely because JB put the idea into their heads with his comments, and they don't have the confidence to trust their own opinions. I personally thought he came across really well on ADWD inspite of some awful songs given to him......and if anyone couldn't "emote" let's face it, that person was Keith (although I do think he has a great voice, and that he was much improved last night).

I wasn't a great fan of Ben's throughout the series, but not showing his vt was really unfair.

I agree in parts - I liked the duet but cannot see Connie as Christine whatsoever. Lee as Raoul or the Phantom obviously - probably the former - but just don't think Connie has the right look, even with a wig, for Christine.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show but - sorry Lewis fans - just don't like him at all. To me he's insipid. My favourite is and always has been Lee, but I must admit I missed Ben's cheeky face.

I agree - but I thought that she was strong vocally, better than Lee really although he has a good "look" for these parts.

I didn't like Lewis at all during the showing of ADWD, but have to admit he did seem much improved on WJMM.....maybe with his looks he just holds the eye more than some of the others!

I enjoyed the show but Lee and Connie had no on screen chemistry. Lee is too lightweight for Phantom songs. Connie was the better of the two in the duet but it didnt work. Lee is a passionless performer.

I don't think he is passionless, but I do think that vocally Connie showed him up badly.

I really enjoyed the show but I did think there was a very slight strain on both their voices, although not surprising with the amount of working they're doing.

And, of course, the fact that Lee was coming down with bronchitis!

Thats terrible - its like a vicious circus on the threads, once one joseph gets better another one goes down!

I hope they all get a chance to rest a bit over Christmas and restore their voices.

He's been holding the tour together over the last few weeks but didn't even warrant a mention .

Nothing against Rob but Chris might have been a better choice.

Sorry, but I have to disagree there! Are you sure you're not confusing Lee and Lewis? That was a really strong, passionate performance from Lee (who, btw is no 'lightweight' - he was understudying the role of Raul in Phantom before entering ADWD! You don't get to do that unless the powers that be in WE theatre consider you good enough to actually play the role on a WE stage - and Lee went on stage as Raul 30 times in 5 months)! He was so expressive, both vocally and physically! How you could consider his performance (in the duet) passionless is beyond me! Just because a performance isn't to your taste, that doesn't make it passionless!

As it was supposed to be 'top 6 Josephs' and Ben had to drop out, they asked the 7th placed Joseph to take his place - and that was Rob.
