No wonder the Judges are sour and rude, look what they were paid in 2006 in relation to the others on the show...

Details from the Sunday Mail.

Bruce Forsyth………………..........£415,000 for 10 week show
Tess Daly…………….….............…£100,000 for 10 week show
Claudia Winkleman………......….£110,000 for 10 week show
Pro Dancers…………………...........£17,000 for 10 week show
Len, Arlene, Craig and Bruno..£13,750 for 10 week show
Celebs………………………..............…£25,000 + £5,000 for Xmas special

I think that the judges should ask to appear as celebs in future.....LOL

Mind you, Bruce hit the big pay day on this one. Not bad for fluffing your lines and forgetting peoples names...

Omg I didn't think Bruce was paid that much

I'm suprised that the pro dancers don't get paid more though, because it takes up all of their time and effort for 10 weeks.

Totally agree, the pro dancers deserve a lot more than that.

Despite what I say about the judges, they also deserve more than they are paid.

IMHO I think that Bruce and Tess should contribute some of their money to this worthy cause.

So if a celeb/pro only lasts a week, they get £17K/£25K, and the winners get exactly the same? That's not fair really... I think it should be paid per week.

I don't know what hours the judges do- I assume most of Saturday, plus the odd appearance on ITT? Compared to the hours some of the pros are putting in, plus pro demos, choreography etc. And they only get a few thousand more!

I know the pro dancers benefit a lot from being in the show in terms of what they can make from teaching and performing, but I think the judges benefit in the same way. So if the pros can smile, I think the judges should too!

If those figures are right - and I wouldn't be sure - it's disgraceful. The fact that the talent on the show, ie the Pros, get so little in comparison to Tess is quite extraordinary. But that tells you more about the values of TV today than anything else.

Now there is no doubt that the BBC has lost the plot! As someone that pays a licence fee I find that extremely out of line!

+ exposure = priceless

I'm pleased to see Claudia does well out of it, but of course the difference is that is a 5 day week, whereas Bruce and Tess only have to read from an autocue on Saturday night.

Whoops - on Sunday night as well of course

Despite the exposure, I agree that the dancers get a bit of a bum deal.

I bet Len & Bruno get paid loads more than that for DWTS. The pro dancers can only hope that they get good publicity with lots of people signing up to their classes i suppose ?

Figures taken from the Sunday Mail 23rd April 2006....A BBC spokesman declined to comment...LOL

No one has denied the figures, just no comments.

I see your point, but I guess for people in the entertainment industry it might not be very desirable ~ if an actor signs on for SCD they have no idea if they'll be in it for one week or ten, so they might turn down a load of work in December, only to find they're out of the show by the beginning of November with a reduced income / fee and no more work on the horizon for a few months. I suppose that why they get the same fee across the board.

Also, the dancers and celebs are contracted to the bbc for the duration of the show, not just however long they stay in it, so they have to be available to apear on ITT, etc (with thanks to *liza* for pointing that last bit out to me)

Absolutely obscene!!

If Forsyth & Daly get that MUCH money then the judges should get the same if not more than those 2 idiots!! The judges have far more difficult job not to mention are now considered celebrities in their own right...in fact more than useless Tess Daly for a start .... that is if celebrity status is the deciding factor in that ridiculous pay bracket!

Hell in fact the dancers deserve higher pay than Tess Daly!

Agree with you, thats why I dont pick on Claudia, IMHO she does a good job for the money.

I still think that the judges should ask to be contestants, then they could be in the hot seat for once..

Pros cannot be paid per week. They are asked to keep their diaries free for the series - they should be paid accordingly.

Pros pay - their earnings the rest of the year will be boosted immensely by SCD (someone mentioned MC's hourly rate is now 100, up from 60) and the BBC have no problem in keeping them, so I see it as a fair wage.

Bruce - much as I like the guy he is overpaid. He is not the show. It would survive without him. We need to save 315,000k+ and bring in someone else on far, far less . Soon the BBC will be laying off staff - this simple change could save 5-10 peoples jobs.

Tess - also overpaid especially with the gaffs she makes.

Celebrities - I like the standard fees, they should stay.

Bruce / Tess / Claudia grossly overpaid the rest seemsok

IMO Claudia isn't that overpaid because as somebody mentioned above she works five days a week. Also I think that she is really entertaining and a good presenter.

However I do agree that Tess is overpaid because I don't think she adds that much to the show, whereas some things on ITT are priceless, especially when she tries to dance in "Len's Masterclass"

Agreed!

Bruce and Tess should halve their pay and then distribute them equally among the pros!

These are old figures which were never confirmed.

However, the judges were paid less than the pro who were paid less than the celebs. I've read that for this series, there is a flat rate for everyone.

I remember reading that too.

I don't have a problem with flat fee for the series for celebs & dancers.

I just think if the Beeb are paying 415K they better have someone that doesn't fluff lines and they should be doing more than 1 day a week -

These figures came up last year ,.
I posted something on a thread a few weeks ago and realised about an hour after I had put 100+ for Bruce when I knew it was 400+ !
Last year the figures I saw were £13k for the pros . I recall saying the that they should be on the same as the celebrities . ,And one can understand why theiri agents were asking for more .
I also think the £25k for celebrities who are there for 1 week and also for those there 12 weeks is wrong .

With exposure to audience of 6 to 9 million twice a week for 13 weeks, ALL the personalities enhance their career prospects and potential future earnings from TV commercials -- if they put up a good showing.

Do believe celebrities could be offered bonuses for surviving each round.

Also believe they could pay me a fee for viewing.

I think the studio cleaner deserves to earn more than Tess Daly
