Does anyone know who it is? I mean the dancer who has had least success on SCD, no in their professional career?

I think Nicole has been voted out early with her partners on both previous occasions, hopefully she'll last longer with John this year.

Flavia has only done one season and had to withdraw after only two weeks last year as her partner, Jimmy Tarbuck had health problems.

I don't know if this counts but what about Hazel Newberry, she partnered Quentin Willson for the first show is series 2 and that was her only appearance

Camilla's record is pretty poor considering who she has had and how many years she has competed

Anton and Erin, Brendan and Camilla are the only ones to have competed in every series.... of them, poor Anton probably has the worst record and Erin the best overall (if you don't count the fact that Brendan has won)

You do have to consider their partners as well, Nicole has not had much success but then she's never been given a particularly promising partner. On the other hand, take Camilla, all but one of her partners have been under 40 I'm guessing and quite fit in both senses of the word.

But then again with Camilla all her partners have all been pretty busy in their day jobs and therefore weren't ever able to put the hours in, plus she has only had one sportsman. Also she was pretty unlucky with Ray last year who went out far too early.

There's many different factors involved and I'm not sure if how successful a pro has been relates to their teaching ability all that much.

It's really difficult to judge it fairly depending on how many series the pro's have done. Obviously the least successful would be Flavia but she didn't have a fair crack at it at all last year. Of those that have done more than one series Nicole is the least successful. Out of the four who have done all four series it's Camilla. Erin is the most successful out of those who have been in it from the beginning.

Der Chef

Poor Nicole Cutler must have offended some dance god in a previous life.

I dont think Antons lack of success has been his partners TBH

Ohhh Yeah

It's a shame we don't have the benefit of knowing how a celebrity would have danced with a different professional. Take Fiona, would she have coped better with say Darren who might have been a bit more patient. Or would Darren G have been as successful if he was dancing with someone other than Lilia?

I think an awful lot depends on how the couples are matched up. If they come across as they are enjoying themselves and have good chemistry I think it endears them to the public and they get more votes. If the pro comes across as bossy and impatient with their celeb they sometimes get a negative vote.

You are right about the example of Fiona, perhaps she would have done better with a more patient partner like Darren or Anton, although poor Anton has had his fair share of lame ducks across the series.

One thing I'd like to see how a female pro would teach a female celeb and a male pro teaching a male celeb.
It would still be a male-female couple dance but for example it would be interesting to see a female celeb would improve under Lilia's tuition. It would probably be easier for the latin and that is out of hold.

Id also say Anton who is always unlucky with the partners he gets

Not sure who has done worst but looking at that list Lilia and Ian have definitley done the best Although in ians case zoe and dennis were good dancers anyway.

Good question. As most of the pro's are also teachers dont you think the females should be able to adopt the male role and vice versa.

I think Lilia is a miracle worker!

That's true they would be able to do either role. Only for the look I'd like to see the male-female final performance.
Ian and James were brought in to help last series with male celebs. I think it's something the pro's consider, bringing in a teaching pro of the same gender.

I think Darren mentioned last series how they all consult each other regarding steps for the opposite gender, so he would ask Lilia for advice for Letitia's steps because presumably she would have a better idea.

Somebody with time on their hands should do a league table showing the total number of shows in which the pros have competed (as opposed to just participated) and the average per series.

Karen's had a real mixed bag.

Right at the bottom...right at the top...and right in the middle.

That would certainly have been an interesting partnership...

That's the thing though, would they have performed as well and appeared to be good dancers if they weren't taught by Ian?

I think Raphael Pungins site actually does this -or gives competition performances per dancer anyway. Ill go and look!

actually I think Ian has an advantage in that he is strong in both latin and ballroom (originally he was a ten dancer I think) and he certainly knows how to make his partners look good, and is a great choreographer. Similar with Lilia really, for a latin specialist she is very strong at ballroom and always has great choreography.

I think if you measured what people believe Anton's success is against his SCD performances are then he is falling short.

He does seem to have been quite unlucky. The SCD bosses seem to try and give him winning partners but when push comes to shove, then they don't quite seem to cut the mustard
