Good evening,

A search has turned up nothing so I wonder if anyone could help please?

I'm new to the world of 3g etc and am trying to view a site(Linksys webcam) via my mobile.
The site can only be viewed using IE. Believe me I've tried every option on my laptop.

Currently using a SE V630i via Vodafone but upgrade due this week.

Can anybody advise what kind of OS I need on the new handset to view the stream?

Or, can I use the SE temporarilyl? Tried Opera Mini but that didn't work for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance.

Does the linksys thing use a flash player (video stream) or just ordinary jpeg images that refresh every few seconds ?

There are mobiles that run windows mobile (and hence have internet explorer, windows media player, outlook, etc, installed). Ive had a vodafone 1210 and O2 XDA GRAPHITE which were both excellent phones, but the vodafone one doesnt have a camara.

Cheers for the response Chris.

Neither. I believe it uses Java Runtime.

That's what the IT dept have needed to install in my last couple of employers.

Is this possible on a mobile?

Perhaps email linksys and ask if they have any mobile device support?

That way you would know for sure?

Thanks Dean,

Unfortunately Linksys are inherently p*ss poor when it comes to support.

So poor in fact, they discontinued any kind of support for cameras they have produced.

Took me(& many others) long enough to get the thing working via a PC, let alone a mobile.

Humm, although nearly all phones have java installed, I doubt many have the CPU power to decode a live video stream in java (the 02 graphite with its intel 416Mhz CPU *might* be able to).

If it requires Internet Explorer aswell then I dont think you have much hope because Internet Explorer mobile will almost certainly identify itself differently to the desktop IE.

Ive still got my XDA graphite. If you want, PM me the link and Ill tell you if it works or not.
