Recommend me an HDTV (dont know where to start!)
Ok, i realise this question is very open ended but i really dont know where to start. All i know is, is that i'd like 1080p (who wouldnt
) and that i'd probably go for a max size of 42" (dont want to get greedy and our lounge isnt that large).A stand for it would be handy, and price range would probably be no more than £800 but could push to £1000 at a stretch if theres an uber-uber good one. So guys...recommendations? Is there anything else i need to consider? (probably, what with lcd/plasma/connectivity etc etc) but i'd like to see your reccomendations ![]() Thanks in advance! |

Im not sure you can get a 1080p Plasma near or under £1000.
If not then its an LCD Samsung or SOny perhaps http://avforums.pgpartner.co.uk/sear...terid=34948958 or Sony http://avforums.pgpartner.co.uk/sear...terid=27737349 |

do you NEED 1080p? if yes get a cheap LCD or a good Plasma in 1080p, if no there are loads of Plasmas with a 15,000 contrast for way under £1000. LG 42PC56 would be my choice.

Check out the Sony KDL-40W2000 now at £840 Inc. Delivery, fantastic TV and price!
Excellent reviews, was about to buy one myself a few weeks ago but due to other priorities I won't buy 1050p 'til in the New Year! Now that the (way above your budget currently) KDL-40W3000 is available the W2000 is an absolute bargain

Cheers guys. I guess i'll for for an LCD one, ive read brief differences between lcd and plasma and i cant really make my mind up. With regards to 1080p, its just to be futureproof really!
