But doesn't that mean no RGB, just CVBS? If so, then that's not really a solution ...

Our TV is more or less permanently set to the 'Toppy channel' anyway. It's very rare for us to need to switch to the analogue channels because of wanting to watch something on a mux that isn't covered by the two scheduled recordings.

Fair enough - I have an IDTV so "normal" viewing doesn't use the DVR.

I guess this feature has been dragged across from a Sony DVD Player. It makes sense there.
But a recorder. I don't remember any VHS recorders doing this.

I find it annoying as my PC is connected to my TV too, so when I switch the Toppy on the do a file transfer I have to wait a few seconds, then switch the TV back to PC again.

I've come across it on two other pvr's - the Pace Twin and Humax 8000. Pace fixed the Twin with one of the early OTA updates and Humax fixed it on their next model, the 9200.

I do wonder if maybe it's the Korean origins as scart is mainly a european thing. If the Korean engineers are used to manually selecting which input to watch it probably never occurs to them there is an issue.
